All incoming newbs, listen to what this dude's said very carefully. The Airbus might be nicer, but there is very little movement systemwide as it remains the senior aircraft. That translates into years of reserve, which under the new RAS system, won't be fun for junior seniority. Most of my peers from when I started in 2023 have only moved a few percent on the bus whereas I've moved a lot more on the 737. The frustrating thing seems to be FOs spending a few years on the 737, then bid over to the Airbus once they have enough seniority to hold a line, which keep holding those at the bottom down there seemingly indefinitely.

Of course, that also depends on the base, but here in the motherland, 737 moves about 3-4x faster progression than the Airbus. I wanted the Airbus when I started, but I'm glad I couldn't hold it in retrospect.

The 737 is the junior airplane now.
Some people will argue that it's silly is it but when you breakdown why it makes sense.
The Airbus is the better aircraft in quality of job and in general.
The way it's paid also makes it better, people forget the 321 now pays 767/757. Granted it's a bho but that still adds up in the end.
Something else to think about is flying available, the 321s are going to start flying to Europe soon and they already fly to Hawaii.

That 321 override is absolutely criminal when they get the same pay for flying the 319 or even the 320 as those flying the 737-800. But nothing surprises me anymore with our Union. Even with those small pay overrides they are a rounding error when compared the huge difference in seniority between the two airframes.

This is true however as someone who flew S80, A320, and B737 the 737 does far more than what the 80 did.

The 321XLR flying will go uber senior, keep in mind the most junior 75/76 CA was around 6000 on the list, I'd imagine that will be the case to hold that flying as well.

Will you be complaining about this if/when the Max 10 shows up and now 737 pilots gain the same override?

Keep in mind only the neo gets put into the higher pay band. 321ceo is in the lower payband with 319/320.

The only thing criminal when it comes to aircraft and pay is UAL/DAL paying NB rates for the 767-300.

American has the exact same pay bands for the 767-300 you just don’t have the airplanes. The only thing criminal is APA not moving the football forward for the rest of the industry.

When the Max 10 shows up? Lol, that’s funny. Like in 2040?

If we want to pay by seat then let’s pay by seat. Either increase the 737-800 pay or decrease the 320 and 319 pay.

The whole point was to make a scale equivalent to DAL/UAL for large single aisle aircraft flying over the pond(s) since we no longer have 75/76 like they do. Thats what the XLR's will be used for, 75/76 equivalent fliying so it makes sense. Cool deal that it also got extended to the NEO/NX's and Max10s.....but ask any airbus pilot not excusively doing Hawaii from the West coast and you'll find its not common to get that override. Waaaaaaaaaay more 321ceos.

Note I did say when/if. Not just when.

Why would you advocate for cutting pay for 319/320? I consider it a small win that we got the 321neo into what used to be the 757 payband without cutting 320/319 pay like the company originally wanted. Now if we could get the 321ceo into that payband.....

And MTAG, you're right that we also pay the 763 the same as a NB. I did not mean it to be a dig at UAL/DAL pilots/union and I apologize if you took it that way. But I still consider that to be criminal with paying WB flying as a NB plane.
