Congratulations! Expect a detailed itinerary email about 3 - 4 weeks before your class date. Then expect your airline travel info about a week before, provided you live more than 50 miles from DFW. If you want to maintain your current employment, you could hand in your two weeks’ notice on Oct 31. But if you’re in a safety-sensitive position, AA will be talking by someone at your current employer soon about past drug testing, if they haven’t already.

Yes. It’s been going on for decades, and they aren’t all rich, nor South American.

Default CLT Airbus Opportunities

New to this site and finding great information. Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but considering making the switch to AA and would like to know what the time frame is to get CLT AB FO and then time frame to get CLT AB CA.

FO is a May '25 hire, CA is June '22.
Junior lineholder is May '24 and May '19, respectively.

ETA: this is based on the wild hiring the last few years, etc. etc.

with the hiring, you can probably get CLT within a vacancy bid or two, and vacancy bids are every 3ish months right now. I know a few people who started before summer that were awarded it in one cycle.

The plug CA in CLT is roughly 5000 numbers senior to the most junior new hire. Based on current retirement numbers it would take someone hired today 8+ years to reach that seniority.

This is a great point, and remember CLT is rather senior comparatively. Plug CA system wide will be quicker than CLT. It will likely continue to trend up from the low of 18 months to the around 3 years today as well.

Also keep in mind that is 8+ to be sitting SC reserve doing red eyes every weekend to perpetuity.

I had a line on the 73 while my Airbus classmates were numbers 1,2, and 3 on the bottom sitting SC.

Choose your equipment carefully...
