Choose your equipment carefully...
CLT has enough red eyes for a SC reserve to be doing them “every weekend to perpetuity”?

Is that accurate? Wouldn't that take longer as the top end retirements slow down? Anyone hired recently able to give a rough estimate based off their seniority progression chart?

Where do you think I got that number from?

Not exactly, lol, but they do have copious amounts of 4 leggers to GSO on a beat-a$$ 320.

I would say that's about right. If you want CLT or DFW you can get it about 6 months after getting hired but upgrade is going to be a long slog. Consider more junior bases if you can for better seniority progression. Same idea 73 vs Bus.

Junior reserve is pretty crappy.

Most junior upgrade from 320 FO CLT to 320 CA CLT is a 125xx number according to the most recent vacancy bid and was a January 2023 hire. So just about 3 years on property and 4000 numbers below them. Granted retirements will be slowing but to say it’s going to take 8 years is wrong

Not to change gears but I accepted a class date and hoping for PHL base. Now that we discussed CLT, what timespan could one expect for NB CA in PHL or WB FO in PHL? Any help with that would be appreciated. Apologies if this has been asked but I didn't see specifics regarding PHL in the search. I'm new to 121. Thank you in advance, looking forward to working with you all!

Thank You!

Current retirements shows 4000 retirements by April 2031 (5.3 yrs). 5000 retirements by Jan. 2033 (7yrs).

Movement in any particular base depends upon flying assigned to that base, which can shift over the years, and how many retirements each specific base has relative to its overall percentage of the pilot corps.

Assuming you are hired today, conservatively:

NB CA PHL 320: 5 Years
WB FO PHL 787: 9 Years

Welcome aboard!
