The classes would have to be bigger than that just to honor the flow through agreements with the wholly-owned regionals.

The May 17th class will be a class of ten. It seems the reduction in class size is due to a backlog in training. Just passing along the latest......

I've heard the same class sizes of 10 a month starting in May.

10 a month is only 120 per year. No way that can come close to keeping up with the retirements.

We're losing I believe 37 net mainline aircraft this year.

I believe since the merger closed in December 2013 until the end of 2017, AA will be down 109 mainline aircraft, with regional aircraft up 55 aircraft.

Sorta that "furlough from the top" mantra (with the lack of hiring and returnees coming back), instead of hiring to replace pilots retiring.

We don't get paid by fleet count. We get paid for flying airplanes and, a much smaller percentage, by P&C time.

YOY 2013-2015 for the combined airline block hours are up.

News report stated ASM's is up 3.x% so far this year.

Pay hours are up.

Annual report shows active pilot count down by 1.5% - 2013-2015.

Block hours are down over half a percent from 2014 to 2015.

I assume this is LAA only, and that LUS will have classes as well. Last LUS permanent bid had 50 new hires on it.

May 6th is the last date you can defer your recall....your phone will ring once...."we have a class on X....do you want back online at AA or do you want to be dropped"
