Reading all the info about mil/civilian hiring, I have a question. I'm a C-17 guard guy and CFI, 3500TT 375TPIC. Selected for IP with possible training dates in the summer. Is it better to keep building time in the military or build up to 1000TPIC (should have this by the end of 2018) with the military then go 121 to make my resume a little sweeter? AA is my number 1 choice. Looking at Spirit or Envoy in the future. Thanks for the help.

$.02 - get the IP slot. Get a 121 job
ASAP. Bust your nuts at both.
Here’s a question - two resumes -
4100. TT. One with 1000 hrs TPIC and a C-17 IP.
The other has 4100.TT, C-17 IP, 800 hrs TPIC, another type rating and 121 hrs 121.
Which do you think gains more traction?
How much can you fly as a reservist? You want to maximize your flight hours increase once you check off mil IP. Both civilian and military. Don’t delay getting 121 qual’d.
Can you move the IP Qual’d up to the spring? Guys have literally done that and were called within 2 weeks.

If the IP course isn’t until this summer start a regional job now. Not tomorrow but now. You can add a new type rating and 121 job/experience before you go to IP school. Shoot, maybe you’ll be hired and have to delay your IP school.
