I've had my bid set to DCA 320, PHL 320, CLT 320 since June. I got CLT on the Aug award and stayed there on the Oct and Jan bids. I would a secondary block holder in DCA but short call in CLT and PHL. The openings in DCA and PHL on the last 3 bids have been filled senior to me.

In my new hire class there was no CLT spots and it took me 6 months to get it. Folks hired abut 4 months after me were waiting more than a year for CLT.
Always seem like there were DCA spots opened followed by PHL.

On the Airbus side CLT isn't impossible to get IF there are openings and you are willing to accept short call. In 2013-early 2014 CLT had the most openings and Airways hired 250-260 guys that year alone, almost all of which went to CLT and either lived in the SE or moved there it seems. Guys who want CLT, just remember that. You're going to be behind 300-400 guys in the base who are young who aren't going anywhere for 35 years.
PHL and DCA swap positions for junior base and block holder. Last year I was a couple spots away from a primary block in Philly yet couldn't touch that in DCA, long call if I was lucky.
As far as wide bodies go, IIRC the junior 330 spot was a 2012 hire in PHL but in CLT it was a '99.
The 75 was a little better in CLT but not much and in PHL it's actually going to new hires and if you want it after a year and don't mind short call or bottom long call it can be yours too if there are openings. The pay difference just isn't that great off the Baby Bus to make any appreciable difference to me, top it off with the limited destinations you have on the airplane and for the same reason the 190CA slots are also junior.

Lots of FL guys looking at CLT because it's one of the easiest commutes out of the swamp. I know CLT is the base I was hoping for if/when I get to mainline. No wide bodies might change that though...

I haven't been comparing CLT and PHL usage. I've only been tracking CLT for about the last month. Most days the bottom LCs don't get used. Some days they all get used and SCs end up covering open time. For Feb, CLT LC went very junior again. I'm a June '14 hire, held LC in CLT, nowhere near LC in PHL and couldn't hold LC in DCA but could have held a secondary.

For months they have been running out of LC and using short call guys. Most of it is due to the fact they decided to cut the amount of guys on LC. Last May, I did 84 hrs on LC and not by choice. I think I flew every reserve day but one that month.
