That's why I changed my "title" a year ago. You must have missed that whole discussion. That title change was born of the likelihood of not ME that will be making that "offer" (which I didn't do in that post despite your misunderstanding), it will be Parker and IF that offer gets to me, it will be because APA found it acceptable and/or just like the last concessionary trade handed to us, they felt it was proper to "let the pilots decide". The last time the majority DID decide, hence our present hat-in-hand reality that even ALPA can't change.
IF such a thing comes to the pilots be it in months or years, do you think the majority will turn down $$$ for an aircraft we won't even soon operate nor likely will ever for say, 100 of them for the Eagle system ?
I'll bet with the right package and the proper grease, I think you'd be surprised at what this pilot group will rationalize in the future (just like the multiple demonstrations in the past). Don't worry about the future as I will be the LAST guy doing any fear mongering about Group 1. This time I won't be the town caller from the sidelines, I'll run silently in the middle of the pack with the majority.

Scope isn't going to be sold by the membership unless it's first sold by the leadership. If it's sold by the leadership, it would be more affirmation we are really just independent contractors and independent contractors look out for themselves.
At least that's the way it has worked so far...........

I brought up the point last month that APA seems to lack leadership, and for that reason we were all blinded by pay rates on the last try and looked right past our sorely lacking work rules. Had we some sort of message from the top along the lines of "keep your powder dry", maybe the more casual voters among us could have held out for something better.
And again, we're not independent contractors. We have no free agency. We can't set our own terms. We can't name our own prices. To the extent hat the company actually honors the contract (which is a stretch, I know), we're all playing by the same rules.

The only rules we're playing by are those dictated to us by Parker. With no leverage, "leadership" that operates from the rear (in the process of which, many of whom have historically negotiated their transfer to the other side) and at least half the membership concerned most with scouting the best cover and concealment until they have safe exit from the battlefield, we are indeed soldiers without an army. Call it what you wish, but to me, we are now independent contractors.
