Jeez, talk about bad trades.

But, across the board compensation increases ? Hmmm..........

Hahahaha, the king of the Scope fear mongers offering to give up larger a/c (E190's) for a pay raise. You can't make this stuff up.

The 319 is not G1

It was G1 in the LBFO1/1113, when the orders were made.

I hope you mean Eaglefly and not me. I don't advocate this trade at all. I'm just wondering if the company would have the gall to ask.

Where you been Slice ?

That's why I changed my "title" a year ago. You must have missed that whole discussion. That title change was born of the likelihood of not ME that will be making that "offer" (which I didn't do in that post despite your misunderstanding), it will be Parker and IF that offer gets to me, it will be because APA found it acceptable and/or just like the last concessionary trade handed to us, they felt it was proper to "let the pilots decide". The last time the majority DID decide, hence our present hat-in-hand reality that even ALPA can't change.

IF such a thing comes to the pilots be it in months or years, do you think the majority will turn down $$$ for an aircraft we won't even soon operate nor likely will ever for say, 100 of them for the Eagle system ?

I'll bet with the right package and the proper grease, I think you'd be surprised at what this pilot group will rationalize in the future (just like the multiple demonstrations in the past). Don't worry about the future as I will be the LAST guy doing any fear mongering about Group 1. This time I won't be the town caller from the sidelines, I'll run silently in the middle of the pack with the majority.

I never advocated trading something I cannot. APA can and sell it to us like LBFO 1 and 2 though. Of course, we can always say no and live with what we have.

I'm prepared for either outcome.

If anyone else had mentioned it you'd have been on them like flies on a hot cow patty steaming in the sun.

With a title like that under my name ?

Scope isn't going to be sold by the membership unless it's first sold by the leadership. If it's sold by the leadership, it would be more affirmation we are really just independent contractors and independent contractors look out for themselves.

At least that's the way it has worked so far...........

Your conclusion is 180° wrong. If such a thing could be sold by the leadership, then wouldn't this imply we can actually be led?

I brought up the point last month that APA seems to lack leadership, and for that reason we were all blinded by pay rates on the last try and looked right past our sorely lacking work rules. Had we some sort of message from the top along the lines of "keep your powder dry", maybe the more casual voters among us could have held out for something better.

And again, we're not independent contractors. We have no free agency. We can't set our own terms. We can't name our own prices. To the extent hat the company actually honors the contract (which is a stretch, I know), we're all playing by the same rules.

That's exactly what it implies, but we can be led to all sorts of places and as such thirsty horses are predisposed to drink any water they are led to.

"Keep your powder dry" ? LOL ! I must have heard that weekly during LBFO I and II and even with that, an excessive percentage of voters never even showed up. The majority that did, voted to hand our powder over to Parker whether they realized it or not. We did get a shiny rifle or two along with some rusty muskets as well, but with no powder or ammo, what could they do for us in the future ?

The only rules we're playing by are those dictated to us by Parker. With no leverage, "leadership" that operates from the rear (in the process of which, many of whom have historically negotiated their transfer to the other side) and at least half the membership concerned most with scouting the best cover and concealment until they have safe exit from the battlefield, we are indeed soldiers without an army. Call it what you wish, but to me, we are now independent contractors.
