Default New contract in the works?

Hi,

I heard a new contract may be in the offing: 17/13 to 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off & pay; among other things.

These rotation changes would mitigate the loss of traveling on days off & more closely match Kalitta & National. A huge improvement if true.

The ink isn’t dry on the most recent CBA. This seems like a pretty preposterous rumor, even for us.

We are buying K4, though, so maybe the CBA will be amended during that process.

Maybe when Atlas buys their next airline to amalgamate a contract with instead of negotiating with its pilot group like it’s done repeatedly over the previous 20 years.

Thats a crazy enough rumor. From the Union President on the crew call a couple days ago. The company has not approached the Union about making any further improvements to the current contract except for the adjustments which became effective 1 Jan. However he said his belief is they still aren’t satisfied with the retention rates. Currently we are +18 or something for the year. He said he thinks they’ll probably try to make more adjustments this year. I highly doubt it. I think they’ll give it the year to see how attrition goes. Given Art 33 just dried up though, I don’t see as much incentive for people to stick around. So who really knows in the end how this will pan out. Don’t hold your breath and you won’t be disappointed. Are you even on property yet or on the line?

I don’t see those changes happening soon. Even though we have to commute on our off days, depending where you live and where you are based you can shrink that time. There quite a bit of areas in our CBA that exceeds K4 and definitely far exceeds Nationals as well.

akfrtdwg 57 makes a good point. You wouldn’t happen to have heard this during initial training if you are on property by any chance?

*Definitely a move in the right direction if nothing is lost in the translation, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

‘That’s the spirit! Believe it when you see it, then you will be pleasantly surprised. Instead of miserable and disappointed when it never happens…

Recruitment and Retention numbers must be down. Let’s create false hope rumors to keep people interested in employment… see this every spring at the regionals.
