If you live near your crew base, drive to work and forget all the travel BS. Even if you live a little farther out, say 3-5 hours away, you can drive and company will pay you mileage ($0.55/mile) or you can even rent a car each way, as long as the cost is cheaper than an airline ticket to base.

Does anyone know how Atlas weighs job fair attendance? I am a regional FO who would love to work for Atlas. I've been sending in my resume religiously, but so far no bites. I'm planning on going to the FAPA job fair on January 23rd, which Atlas is attending. Has anyone been gotten the call after attending a job fair?

If you do go, prepare yourself by being able to speak intelligently about Atlas and their operation. Also, be prepared to convince them that Atlas will be your last airline. They are concentrating efforts on candidates who are likely to NOT flee to the majors in a year. Good luck. |

As far as I know, Atlas views pilots who make the effort to attend a job fair very favorably.

Good things can definitely come from a job fair, just be ready to stand out from the other thousands. |

If this jumpseat thing holds up I'll be amazed. That's one of the craziest examples of pilot micromanaging in aviation history! Can't ride your own company's jumpseat to work?? That would instantly place us in the bottom of work conditions in the industry. People applying take note.

Ha! Yup. My schedule just changed. Going home 2 days early. That's great, right? Oops, you lose $1000 because of it. Fun stuff.

Any more calls going out? My work situation has become interesting. It would be extremely convenient to get a call for training in Jan or Feb :)

I know emails have gone out in the last couple days for the online assessment, but I don't know about hiring calls....
