Start saving your strike fund TODAY if you don't already have one.

You have to be senior enough around here to have a strike fund and be willing to work more than 17 days. :D

Strike fund and Junior FO don't go hand in hand around here when folks are being reduced to min guarantee and can't get an OT trip on VX days. Not a complaint but and honest observation.

Looks like the bottom three hundred are stepping up. Three 767 FO trip filled.

Since I am pursuing a career at Atlas and I don't have a copy of the contract, could you guys please tell me what the major complaints are that could possibly warrant a strike? I know the job is fun and most people seem to enjoy it. I also know 17-20 days is a long time to be gone. I see a lot of positives to this job as well: no commuting, no crashpads, interesting destinations, big shiny jets, long stretch of days off, live where you want, and not being stuck at a regional for your entire career. Everyone on here has been very helpful and I know all of us new guys really appreciate it!!

If you're looking for a job based on big shiny jets, stay in the regional arena. ;)

If you're really interested, you should be fully aware of the good and the bad. Read the entire thread when you can, and let me know if you've discovered any downsides by then.

This job can be great fun when the company honors our contract. (Even though we lag way behind in pay and especially retirement contributions) Been a while since i went a whole trip without some department trying to wiggle out of something made clear in the CBA. YMMV

I'm not management, I'm a regional guy trying to figure out the next step in my career. I have an interview the first week of Jan and I'm really excited about it. Just trying to weigh the good and bad. I've read about half the thread but 1010 pages is quite a lot. Commuting on rsv with a 4 hour flight doesn't leave me much time before my interview to read the whole thing. I'll get through it though!
