Is anyone getting called from Atlas that doesn't have an internal rec? I have submitted my app 3x (hopefully not in vain). It's a pretty solid resume with chief pilot and evaluator times noted. Currently I'm flying the mighty FRED (C-5 for those non military types) and run into the Atlas tail most places I park at.

Just wondering how to get some facetime....

Default Atlas Hr Poc???

Can anyone help. Retiring next year from the Navy and am sending my resume to ATLAS. I'm going to email the resume as the company website requests, but I'd also like to attach a cover letter. Can anyone tell me who a good POC is in HR to address the cover letter to. The ATLAS website lists Human Resources and the address. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Tex, I got called 1 week ago today. No internals (that I know of), made it to the test portion. I submitted my resume however, way back in March.

Give it some time.

Wow, good to hear that, ShortFinal. Any luck on the test? Did they call you up for an interview yet?

Good luck.

I was taken by surprise when I got the call. It had been so long, I kinda figured I didn't fit the bill. (me: ttl hrs a little over 14K with 13 years worth of narrow body 121 PIC time working for a dying airline) Nice lady spoke with me and the call was only about 7 minutes long and she explained the next step and I had 3 days to take the test.
I was in the middle of a four day schedule and tried to squeeze the test in between flights and was running out of time without being able to study and failed it.
Note to guys taking the pre interview test. Don't take it while you're in the middle of something else. If I just could have been on off days to take it, I'm sure I would have done better. It was a golden opportunity lost.

Its quite a challenging test. He his advice, its times or it was when I took it but you must be in the right frame of mind. Some very interesting questions.

A good friend of mine got interviewed. He said you have to have an active pilot for Atlas send your resume through there company e-mail address. Also, if you get called for the on-line testing (60 mins timed) you better get a phone patch with all your buddies. Perferably non-sched int'l pilots. The questions they ask are not easy. I was one of the guys on the phone patch.

Default Minor thread creep

Pulled in to park next to an Emirates -400 with an N-number registration. That put a question mark over my melon until I saw the "operated by Atlas" script on the side.

Is that common for you guys to paint an aircraft so specifically for one of your contracts? Or is that jet owned/leased by Emirates and you're just operating it? Just curious.

We've had OUR airplanes in customer livery for many years. Some of them you might have seen (over Atlas' history) but not realized were actually Atlas airplanes include:

British Airways
China Airlines
Thai
Emirates
Alitalia
Scandinavian

In each case above, the airplanes were owned, registered, and operated by Atlas Air and pilots (and FE's on the 200s) on the Atlas Air seniority list.

Other customers that we fly for are ok with the Atlas livery and their cargo on our airplanes.

That includes using their traffic rights, landing slots, and even their callsigns...

For those of you that look down on such things, just take a look out of the window of any major (legacy) airline and you'll see a Regional Jet painted in the livery of the contracting carrier...but operated by someone else. It is no different for Atlas.
