Funny you should mention that because at the Women in Aviation conference when Atlas was talking about their future plans the "dash 8" was discussed and how they were getting several of them later that year, I just couldn't wrap my head around why in the world a company that operates 747 would want a turboprop!!??!!

So yes, it is good to know the difference

Test passed! Pfffeewww! That thing was a bear and I was surprised I scored as high as I did with an 85. BIG thanks to all on here who pointed us potential hires in the right direction with regards to what to study. I am definitely going to have to look at enroute weather and aero theory more before I get to the interview.

Tanker-Driver...I am going into the test within 24hours. Any Advice? (I will be taking the test solo, kind of nervous)

Gents/Ladies,

Don't take it lightly. I thought I was prepared, but quite a few of the questions were a shock to the system. Lots of in-depth aero stuff (at least on my test). If you haven't skimmed 'Aerodynamics For Naval Aviators' recently, I'd to some focused review there. Another good book that is less of an engineering exercise when it comes to the aero stuff is 'Fly the Wing'. Worked good for this Poli-Sci major. Also, others have been spot on on the weather stuff. Know your symbols, TAFs, and METARs cold. Good luck to you. Hope to see you in Miami in a couple weeks.

Sucks, going solo that is. As mentioned probably hundreds of pages back, CRM/lifeline/phone a friend/google is your friend on this thing.

Use ALL your available resources.

Took my test solo when I did it, old 60 question test a year ago. If you have read up on the stuff on this thread, and know which book to look in to find what you want, you should do fine. Been online just over a year. Good luck to all!

You missed one . . . "the not so user friendly of an airplane when it comes to using the galley or sleeping in the left bunk when someone flushes dash-8" Guess F.O.'s will now be sleeping on that side as seniority rules.
