After reading this whole thing and understanding the process, this statement doesn't make sense, and the few questions......

Upgrade times SHOULD drop. Just a quick lookover for the next two years: 35 retirements 2013 and about the same the next year. This doesn't inlcude LOA's (Leave of Abscense), or LTM's (Long Term Medicals).

So if we're adding airframes without parking any and retirements coming, I see it dropping.

Not to get this thread off track but the red highlight above needs some correction. The company is responsible to get you from you HOME and it doesn't have to be your Gateway. Thus, the reason it's called Home Reserve and capitalized as a legal definition in the CBA.

The Company can send a cab, limo, chariot, or any other mode of transportation to get you moving out of your Home. It's their responsibility and their dime. There's a recent discussion on this very topic on the Union Forum and I urge everyone to check it out as you guys are taking on expenses that you don't need to be doing.

So to summarize, Gateway Travel is something you excercise as a way to get to a trip or your base. Home Reserve is a "don't sweat it" 'cuz it's the company's responsibility and you may fly out of an airport that isn't your Gateway.

You would be assuming correctly. Try to answer next time but in the meantime continue to return the call to her.

 

paidpnuts, at least thats a progression in the right direction. I hope you are able to make contact with them. Good luck.. Did they call from New York, Miami or where. I would like to know what area code(s) to look for and not ignore a call that could be mistaken for a telemarketer call!! Im hoping to get a call soon. Sounds like you submitted your paperwork a week ahead of me. Anyway, heres hhoping for that elusive call.

 

It was a 914 area code talked to Brittany this afternoon. Very pleasant and nice. When she asked about the schedule I hesitated and wasn't as excited as I probably should of been. I was not asked to do the online assessment test rather she said she would give my resume to the chief pilot which is apparently the kiss of death.

I had been following this on the Union site but wasn't sure if it had played out completely yet. Living out in the sticks like we do, I suspect my life is easier by using my gateway of MSO. I can see the advantage of doing otherwise if one lives closer to civilization, though.
