Good catch. That's how I read out too. I didn't pay attention to the fine print since I'm not going.

The DC-9 taught me how to fly! 744 driver may say the jury is still out on that. This post is spot on for me.

And, when in doubt, the answer is probably "DC Transfer Bus"!

But that is only because you keep bidding Reserve lines and you try really hard not to work very much...I say, good on you if you can get away with it!!

However, it doesn't do you any favors when it is time to go to Recurrent Training/Checks...good luck in Miami.

That pretty much sums it up. Yes, my experience on the DC-9 will basically land me a job over the next guy who only has CRJ time at this point in his/her career. So why don't you....

Not only about what you have flown, turbofan is turbofan. More importantly amigo, can you play well with others? Do people want to spend 9-15 Hr in a plane with you or not. Something to think about. I think that SW gives extra points for DC9 time you may want to check I think they are hiring.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade here, but I'm going to drop a dose of reality on you. With CRJ time, I beat out any number of others for my first job flying heavies. We had a lot of ace RJ pilots in my class at Atlas that apparently beat out a lot of folks flying larger aircraft. By the time Atlas decides to talk to you, they've decided if you are qualified or not, and from what I see everyday on line, there is no shortage of talent.

This is as friendly advice as I can give. Rid yourself of any sense of superiority. I had 2500 hours in heavies when I came to Atlas on top of 8000 more, with lots in RJs, and I was frequently hanging on for dear life throughout the training. It was the team that got us all through. That is why folks are talking about how well you work and play with others.

As far as not going to a job fair...your choice. I went to one, and I got a phone call on the Monday after the fair. Coincidence? I'll let you form your own opinion. Meanwhile, many of my compatriots who didn't go are still waiting. In this industry it's all about setting yourself apart. Just having jet time puts you in the same league as a LOT of other people. I should know. Atlas is my 4th airline, I've played the game.
