I agree, no problem whatsoever.

i thought i read that this summer had some of the highest load factors on record. i think Delta's average was over 90%. that sounds like a case for extra capacity to me.

That's because of the MAX groundings, Delta was in a position of not only not having aircraft grounded but also being able to increase ASMs by delaying scheduled aircraft retirements but was also limited to not having planned on that in advance so there were only so many crews available. Once the MAX is back in the air there will a lot of capacity returning in relatively short order with the other airlines looking to get market share back while Delta tries to hold onto the gains.

* pay will be regional +20% + profit sharing
* using 195's to launch next summer ish 50% scheduled/50% charter
*possibly home basing to begin with 14/14 schedules
* a lot of seasonal routes with the A220, as the flexibility of the aircraft was the major selling point (ability to swap class configurations quickly)
* all of the reservations will be done through a virtual office
*the only thing he would say about a possible crew base was he had a an idea of a really amazing place he thought crews would love (not SLC, I asked as he mentioned some portions of the company being based there)

I'm not sure how much if any of this is new info to those of you interested, but figured I'd share.
Why was everything referenced or described as “possible” and not definitely.

I love how one completely unsourced interaction posted by an anonymous person online has spawned 3 pages of debate.

I wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers, all I am doing is passing along info I recieved from someone whom I'd say is credible.

For those that are sceptical, I understand. I can definitely say that I have absolutely no reason or time to sit at home and make stuff up about an airline that isn't even in existence yet. I happened to recognize him (his name actually, on the preparing now board) while we were both getting a bite to eat at Panera. He was on his way to NY for a ceremony as JetBlue was dedicating their first NEO to him. His flight was delayed due to the inbound A/C from BOS diverting to ABQ for TS in PHX. The captain and I struck up conversation with him, and he sat down and spoke to us for a while. I was surprised he did, and how approachable he was.

Let me also clarify, that the 14/14 I believe is only going to be for the charter ops they are planning at the start.

Again, good luck to anyone who is interested.

I’ve actually heard he is very approachable. If he is planning a Summer 2020 start I assume hiring would need to begin in the next 5-6 months - right? That implies we will need to learn more about the operation before hiring begins. So, I hope we hear more soon. Sounds like he will have access to many former Azul E195s before the A220s arrive.

If he is planning a summer 2020 start hiring needs to have begun last month unless we are talking only 2 or 3 airframes.
