This one ^ absolutely wins the internet. Amen friend.

My Colorado acquaintance (in the cyber sense), let me try to make this understandable...

We at K4 fly to a host of **** holes around the planet. Usually, once. So, is it better to drop off crew A in said **** hole and figure out how to get them back to civilization? And, figure out how to get crew B into said **** hole? Or, just double crew it? Plenty of bunk space for whoever needs to nap. Lots of good food. And, the collective double crew basically get double pay versus flying half the trip and deadheading in or out.

Regardless of the assorted opines that have been left on this thread, the large majority of the business here is on demand charter. So, this is actually a quality of life issue for our pilots. We would much rather be moving for money than trying to figure out if it is safe to eat or drink the offerings in some miserable corner of the earth.

Still here. Just been reading the posts and laughing at how stupid some K4 pilots are. Like you!

Now I am just hoping K4 pilots get their wish and get the hell out of 1224.

Would it be better to have some solidarity among cargo pilots. Absolutely! But it is not worth having a bunch of weak pathetic losers dragging down the entire local.

Atlas lost an 18 year 747 Captain in June. We can add, subtract, divide and multiply...

No one is questioning your ability to divide or subtract.

^^^^^^ and rather be on our metal than spend half our month on other airlines

You are stuck in the Willow Run Vortex.

Four....k4 Captains have gone to UPS in the last few years... TWO are NURPS now... guess you like that... the other had so many training issues here he felt a need to leave... the one major who interviewed him turned him down...the fourth was a good guy.... 1 out of 4 isn't bad

You did get some good FO's though....

You geniuses realize these are duty limits for double crews (4 pilots). DW wants 18-20hrs max no matter what. It will decimate the majority of business K4 does. There's plenty of time for pilots to get a good nap in and get paid for it versus airlining and overnighting in places like Kabul. Not one pilot wants what DW wants. And I think joining ALPA would be stupid.

My OC friend, point well taken :)

So no one at Kalitta (including the pilots) is smart enough to figure out how to fly to hostile destinations and not have to overnight without a 24-30 hour duty day?

Yet other carriers go to the same destinations and they do it without 30 hr days or overnighting.

Or did you guys sign a contract that had shiny pay rates but no decent work rules and now you have to work ridiculously long days to make decent money?
