K4 Pilots Declaration Of Independance !
#241
Show me where any K4 pilot has complained about an inadequate contract. As you already know, or you are a moron if you don't, the complaint is how DW caused us to go almost a year with out a pay raise in the interest of Atlas. Get rid of the letter of agreement and perhaps K4 will vote to stay. Don't and K4 may be leaving.

I do not remember any K4 pilot disparaging any Atlas pilot at any time. The concern for many of us is DW, and If you remember I was once a vocal supporter of the Teamsters and DW. The difference between you and I is I can admit when I am wrong. I was WRONG when I supported DW, but my decision of support was predicated on a lie, and not the facts.
You present an alternative viewpoint, but it is nothing more than your opinion. So let me clarify for the record. I do not hold any ill will, nor do I or for that matter any K4 pilot that I know, have any issue whatsoever with Atlas pilots. We wish all of you nothing but complete success in obtaining the contract you so richly deserve. My displeasure as well as a considerable number of us at K4, was the manner in which our contract was held up. If you cannot understand this perhaps you should seek professional advice. With regard to the looser comment, you should look in the mirror and see who stares back at you, because with your attitude you are indeed Screwed!
Moving forward I am confident we will be making a transition, so I appreciate the kind words you so graciously offered.

What happened as you know is that DW used that loophole to hold our contract up, hoping that we would strike, in order to further the position of the Atlas negotiation team.
I fully support the first intention and deplore the second. The second is an extreme example of corruption and conflict of interest. I will be very happy to back off of this argument when you pay me the $25000.00+ that I personally lost while DW played his games and eliminate DW or anyone else ability to twist the agreement in this way.
To answer your question, I would rather not take my ball and go home. I am obligated morally to do all I can do to prevent this immoral activity to continue and happen to another pilot group.

Sigh... I just don't understand why the legitimate beef we at K4 have with DW is such a poisonous subject with all of you who choose to brand our contract as sub-standard.
Truth is, it is a pretty good deal. I have spoken to line guys who come through the school house that are well on the way to $300K a year without working a single day off. No possibility of being held out for extra days. Junior assignment doesn't exist. True home basing without the IRS hit. What's not to like? (obviously, there is always room for improvement)
Somehow, the whole thread here got hijacked into a name calling contest that has nothing to do with the issue. We just want DW gone. And, since we (and ABX, who are not exactly thrilled with the current e-board) don't have the critical mass to out vote the Atlas group, we need a better solution.
Letters were signed that addressed a specific issue (race to the bottom for the 737 contracts) that have been used against the K4 group (and other 1224 carriers) to hold the collective group hostage for things that are not our problem.
Quite frankly, if I was king of the world, the solution is to allow Atlas to get their own local and leave the rest of us to further our collective causes. It wouldn't mean that anyone is going to refuse to honor any carrier's picket lines. (none of our guys went to work last year) It would just allow those pilots who don't have a stake in DW's agenda to go on with our collective bargaining future.
As for Screwed and the rest of the trolls who seem to enjoy stirring the pot for the entertainment value. Get a life. There are way more important things that need doing...

I agree with you about the K4 contract especially when you consider the contract they came from. I think they did an outstanding job.

I lost far more than the paltry 25k that all you folks are complaining about. You guys are totally disrespecting the people that came before you. Leave and don't look back.

The majority of my peeps who are still at K4 are happy with the contract , it's not everything they hoped for , it never is, but it was a marked improvement of what we flew under while I was there, at your next turn at bat you will improve it even further, Cheers out, and I look back at my time there with nothing but good feelings, it was my lifeboat during a tough furlough, I have nothing but gratitude: )

Joke. We have been fighting for lesser duty days for decades. Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out.
