Maybe... Maybe not. They are currently asking us for concessions with work rules.... I don't think we could get a quick agreement unless we agreed to a concessionary contract.

While pay would increase substantially.....there would have to be concessions in other areas for a K4 style contract.

Why did you just mention compensation?
K4 exceeds Atlas in many areas...as I'm sure you know

Very true. Atlas's current work rules are much better than K4's. I think that this goes on for a very long time with great damage to the company. Even if they win the Amalgamation we're not going to just give the company concessions and an Arbitrator won't take the entire thing. The company would be looking at 2 or 3 years AFTER winning the law suit AND Grievance. Remember that they have to win the Grievance too. We just need to win one of the two. Can they really wait that long?

I've read K4's contract. The current work rules are worse than Atlas's current rules. The rate is better....

Many of K4's work rules are better than current Atlas

However there is a lot more to a contract than $$ and scheduling

And we have many components that are more desirable then Atlas current book
It's simply a fact

Work rules...
Occams Razor... Between K4 and Atlas, who has the better QOL?
Implementation and contractual words are two entirely different things.

I've read your contract. You don't get paid unless you block hours. I get paid on a 24-7. You don't. It's more than the duty day.

OK Globemaster, Yours is bigger than mine. There are things like junior manning and insurance that are better in the Kalitta Contract but there are definitely things that Atlas has that we would like to get the next time around. As I said before, this is pattern bargaining. We raised the bar on pay now you raise it wherever you can and we will build on that in a few years. Why be a hater?

I grossed 130k my first year at K4 with hardly working any over time, maybe 10 days maximum? But you get paid a min day? Looking at the bigger picture, who has the better deal?
This is why K4 pilots are pulling their hair out over 1224 demands on contract stipulations. What is important to your pilot group is or can be irrelevant to ours.

You are comparing our old contract to your new contract. Apples to Oranges,

Now imagine your pay rates with our work rules. But we don't want to settle for just that. You have pretty good rates......but we need better work rules to go along with it, and retirement.

Its too bad that K4 pilots feel they have to pick up their marbles and leave. They should have at LEAST TRIED TO participate more within the upper levels of the union. I don't ever remember seeing a K4 pilot running for one of the higher offices. Especially this last election. Nobody even challenged.
