(No contract is perfect) I personally think that you should be compensated for reserve credit, deadhead, trip rig, and loss of trip due to training. I think it would have been tough negotiating trip rig without giving those things up. If the K4 guys retain what they have and then get a rig in the next contract, they will have the best of both worlds. If they would have given up on reserve credit it would have been an impossible task to get it back. The K4 contract in whole is far superior to ANY contract currently in 1224, but still has vast room for improvement like all 1224 current contracts. Hopefully Atlas raises the bar in a few years when they get a new contract and Kalitta can raise the bar to the standard your negotiators set.

I know the 1 in 7 isn't something you chose, it's something you ended up with. You made massive gains in your contract, and this isn't one of them. That's okay.

But don't be afraid to call a spade a spade. You (Lockheed) obviously aren't. 1 in 7s aren't paid days. They are a kick in the pants is what they are. Something that you will fix next time, no doubt.

But to defend that clause, to say that those are paid, that's just wrong. And arguably spreading management propaganda.
