I don't ever see this happening, but I think airline management would love to rid themselves of training overhead.
Why? They could still run their own training. Just pay and work rules are standard. You’d still have to indoc, at least PC and all the normal FAA BS.

I’d like to see the FAA force standardized training. Same flows, procedures, call outs and profiles all based upon the aircraft, not which company is flying it.

+1

I was surprised to learn as a nube to civilian/121 flying a year ago that each airline has its own checklists, call outs, etc. for the same airframe. You'd think the FAA would force standardization just to simplify things for themselves if nothing else.

It would be nice if Day 1 of 16 was an actual travel day.

If you have paid attention to the problems with the 737 Max lately....the FAA does not force much of anything..

In some cases the FAA is instrumental in adding items to a particular airlines checklist. A good example is, an airline suddenly has a rash of attempted takeoffs without flaps set, let’s say 8 in one year. The FAA may suggest, if said airline has not already done so, that they add a flaps verification in several areas of the checklist.

Checklist and procedures are changed to reflect each airlines particular culture. An Asian airline does not have the same culture as an American or European airline.

Culture doesn’t fly airplanes; pilots do. Pilots utilize standardized procedures, flows and checklists when operating those planes. Culture changes from airline to airline; the plane, it’s capabilities and limitations don’t. A standardized program specific to the plane, not the culture, would enhance safety...

Where oh where will they go......

And hey anyone know the deal with those DHL tripples? Heard Southern was getting a few but with all the Atlas/Southern family drama I’d think Amazon and DHL would want to diversify more.
Mesa is getting some.
