Committ, while those groups certainly do exist, did you purposely leave out "legacy" guys who have integrated with the pilot group and have earned their trust? Because whether you know it or not some have and want to contribute to a unified, one, Amerijet Pilot group against the poor management practices that have been recently flexed. It would be so refreshing to be the Amerijet Pilot group with pilots committed to being a unified force and not factions from different airlines. To others reading on this thread, no matter where you are from, if you come in, want to work hard, learn, bring your experience the right way, and FLY THE CONTRACT, you will be just fine. This pilot group, new and old, most have had it with abuse from management. Some here are still shaking in their boots due to fear-mongering by management the interim MEC is working hard along with other committee members to put a stop to pilot abuse and promote safety. No more min rest scheduled trips, pressure to extend, lack of catering, and having money stolen out of our pockets for not working on a day off involuntarily among other basic things that belong to the pilot profession. However, anyone who wants to apply here and think they are better than everyone else or be buddy-buddy with management, apply at your own risk your experience may vary.
We, like anyone else, have been flooded by resumes. And unfortunately for some reason all of our classes had been filled with expats and major airline furloughs. It has not worked out that well as some went back due to their airlines, others quit and some just do nothing but whine about everything. The latter are the ones who need to shut up and just be grateful for the job. But that’s my personal opinion.
The two recent classes they hired had a more blended structure of pilots. So it’s honestly been all over the place. Our HR are notoriously slow and at times have been hard to get ahold of. They may have forgotten. We don’t have pilot recruiting like some airlines. It’s our DO, CP and director of training along with a few others. Basically folks wearing multiple hats sometimes. As such if you have a pint of contact here you’ve got to follow up routinely it seems. And that’s including those with internal recs. Good luck. We will be adding more 200s in January and expanding. So we need good folks here.

A couple of ppl I know who interviewed recently both had a week between interview and offer. I’ve also been told some knew within 30 min. I interview tomorrow so hopefully I’ll get some good news sometime in the next week.

Interview this week and excited to possibly join the team.. I've got a few questions for line guys, I understand there are 12 days off 8 hard 3 soft and the company is frequently junior manning guys with what I've been told without the ability to decline. I'm a hard worker and don't mind being used and abused (regional guy) but say you had your days stacked and a vacation planned and they call you are you screwed? Family in town and they call are you at their disposal 24/7 is essentially what I'm asking.. How is the pilot pay department? Do you guys have to fight for your pay for working days off or trips picked up or contractual issues or is that a non-issue? Planning on relocating to Miami, will that make life easier as a junior pilot? Honestly I've got a lot more questions than that if any current or former line pilot would be willing to reach out I would really appreciate it. Thanks

"Junior Manning is a part of any airline."
Not true, and I fail to understand why it is accepted in our industry. The tricks of meeting people on the jetways, sending an ACARS message, scheduling calling from their personal phones or having an agent hand you a junior assignment when the aircraft door is opened are pure B.S. If the company can't man an airline properly that is there fault. It has become so ingrained at some places that they use it as a scheduling tool instead of for the occasional "emergency". Connie Kalitta is as OG as you can get in the ACMI world and we don't have JA and haven't in decades. If he can make it work without it others can but choose not too.

I have to say I agree. I know junior assignments are normal at SOME airlines, but none in my experience. The best way to handle this is to offer 200% and "senior man" the airline, which I think is coming from the company due to the work of the MEC.

There was a group that interviewed the week before Christmas but as far as I know most of us haven’t heard anything yet. The Jan 4 class was filled up. There was talk of a class on the 18th.
