And again, they get paid significantly more and do significantly less than your instructor pilots and check airman. They have no clue why they are in Miami other than to collect a paycheck. That’s what it means. We don’t need to reinvent the wheel here, only use it better. And we don’t need saviors either. They aren’t working out too well thus far.
Interesting take on the situation. I am not really bothered either way. AJT has used contract instructors for a while (none with AJT line experience) and I believe the reason that they are continuing the practice for the simple fact that the company does not currently have the manpower to pull line pilots in to instruct or conduct interviews. Heck, they cannot even pull FOs off the line to do CA upgrades and the word is AJT is short 20 skippers. The Bobs have both flown the 767 for many years...I am not sure what the lack of cargo hauling experience has to do with anything. I have flown both and hauling cargo is easier and much more enjoyable.

AJT is exploding in size and it is all hands on deck. A little outside perspective is always good...that is why the racket called "consulting" exists.

Do I need to check six while sizing up my ring with my big blank check? Listen bud those of us here on property actually trying to improve this company don’t need a lecture on the Bobs. As for our contractors the 4 we use all are fantastic. I’ll take one of them over the likes of the Bobs any day. Keep drinking your kool aid from BB but we see thru the BS. This thread is about helping pilots not about your delusional opinions. Kick rocks and back on topic.

Mr. "Check your Six" hahaha our own personal Messiah who came from the desert to save us lost souls of the lesser carriers... Our self admitted "only hope" (his words) who's only real aim is to make friends with management at the expense of others and loves to take creative liberties when talking about his previous experience (never flew at AA) or having position in the company of which he has only been a part of for months as probationary FO (NOT a director of squat at AJT).

That being said, this guy is part of that 5% that exists at every carrier and most of us can see right through him. Like Commit said, this thread is about helping each other out and not promoting propaganda for opportunistic and poorly executed management decisions in the hopes of getting back into their good graces after looking like a fool.

There is a great group of pilots here, old and new and from all experience levels, that bring a lot to the table and are the driving force behind the positive changes that are slowly but surely taking place, and who do so without the need for self aggrandizing ego stroking.

PS:We all have each others Six's covered.

I am not the guy that you are referring too. I also think 'check six' is speaking out of turn.

I was however trying to have a rational conversation about it without putting anyone down. My mistake.
Pretty certain that I did not say anything negative about anyone or the company.

"Speaking out of turn" is a misrepresentation of what said characters buffoonery has been so far in his short time at AJT, and I think we both know that. Now no one here is making false accusations or making up stories that aren't verifiable facts, simple as that.

That being said, I think you came here trying to stir the pot with the end intent of being able to make your statement and are now trying to appear like the bigger person who doesn't really care either way, but you obviously do.

From your post history I can see you have been vocal in the past about your experiences as an ex-pat and your total qualifications, all which are fine. I can also see you were a recent interviewee and hire at AJT and might feel that all that experience somehow gives you a better worldview than the pilots that are currently at Amerijet. You might even see the Bob's as more your equals than the regular line pilot that spent most of our careers in the Caribbean. While fresh blood can be a good thing, the approach is where the failure has occurred and that is what has lead to distrust.

Also, don't you think AJT pilots and instructors have a right to be upset after dedicating time and sweat to the company if someone got hired off the street to do the same thing they do under better pay ($1000 a day) and conditions because it was easier for the company, or do you somehow see that as a necessary evil?

No one appreciates someone coming into their house after they have been invited in and rearranging the furniture without asking for input or why the furniture was there to begin with.

Yes we can have all the rational conversations you want but when you defend the fact that the Bob’s get paid more than double our AJT people just cuz it’s BBs way of manipulating things in the training dept and hiring it’s where you offend the Real AJT people. BB and the Bob’s have failed Amerijet and frankly I dont know why are they still here after THE EPIC failure their hiring showed up to be during this peak! I hope when things go back to normal we keep some of the guys they hired cuz honestly I don't think they’re all bad but some have proven to be Real BAD! Coming and telling people how great their experience is and how behind in the 70s AJT is. Well if you dont like it!!! Beat it!!! There is other places to work!

I was part of the 12/30 interviewees. Have not heard back yet, was told max 2 weeks.

Can anyone provide REAL insight other than what I was told about amerijet?
-no homebase
-must live w/in 2 MI of MIA airport
-would like 2-3 lines rather than ACMI typical 17 on 12 off
-switched from TWU to ALPA
-taking on more planes (including 757s)

Going on 3 weeks now. I’d just like to know something, whether it’s TBNT or you’re in a pool. Prior to my interview most people were hearing back in about 5-8 days.
