Just because management is taking home basing off the table doesn’t mean it won’t end up in the final contract, could be a negotiation ploy
The pilots want it and will negotiate for it, as far as I know there will be no new contract without home basing, and Amerijet needs a new pilot contract to grow.

We have not even opened contract talks yet. In fact only just did the NMB training last week. And completing the ALPA portion this week. No date has been set as to when both sides will meet. So the DO can say whatever he wants. But we haven’t had one contract meeting yet. So that issue is still very much on the table and is not something we want to table. We are done being Miami centric. As our business expands into more ACMI the only way to support it is home basing. And our “temp base” BS proves it. We already are doing it for pilots who hold those lines so the argument does not really hold water with me personally.

As for swimming in our “pool” I do not know. We tentatively have plans to run monthly 6 person upgrade classes. And we have aircraft acquisitions coming as well. We will need to hire for that plus any attrition. We are beginning to see some of our expats bailing to other places due to their 777 experience. It’s always been a challenge here with corporate communications. My best advice is if In the pool stay engaged. Follow up weekly. Good luck. We need good folks here. Just know we’re a work in progress.

I hope that the negotiations will start soon. Pilots should stand their ground for better CBA.

Thanks for the answer about the pool question. I was told 8 pilots per class, but no idea when the class dates would be in May.

When you say 'expats' you mean Americans that came from abroad? EK, EY, Korean etc?

Americans that had been flying abroad (ME3, Asia, Etc).

There had been a push to hire a balance of higher time pilots with heavy/international experience and (generally) lower time domestic pilots.

Those higher-time pilots with heavy experience check many of the boxes for some of the larger carriers that are hiring.

Last I heard, those without a US Passport are not currently eligible for employment.

Thanks.

I think the deal with the passport is generally to do with DoD contracts requiring it.

Anyone can give an update on the next classes after April 26th?
Last thing I heard, they don't know which was over a week ago.

The ground school footprint is currently 3 weeks. Given that spacing, the earliest possible date for a class after April 26th would be May 17th.

Actual simulators are used for both the cockpit procedure training and full-motion sim sessions that follow ground school, so keeping the three-week spacing might overload the available sims/instructors.

I'm surprised they use the actual sim to do cockpit procedure training, rather than a mockup with posters.
