Paper plotting charts for now. EFB’s are being issued to the individual pilots as we speak with Jepp FD ProX. Currently three airplanes with FANS, the two winglet aircraft and the other straight wing ex-AA airplane. Best guess that any additional 300’s will have FANS.

It varies, based on your experience.
We don’t do strait seniority based upgrades (you have to apply for the position with a resume and interview plus checkride). People with previous 767 type and PIC experience go to the front of the line and might upgrade in the first year, low time pilots... you get the picture. This is something the pilot group might want to address with the next contract and be more like every other airline in the country

I have a few questions that I forgot to ask at my interview yesterday.
--If you are very junior - how hard is it to get all of your work days in a row?
--I assume because it is a 28 day bid cycle, that there are 13 bids a year?
--Are CVG/SMF the only 2 out station basing right now?
--Alas, when pilots do get an overnight how are the hotels?
I really enjoyed the experience yesterday.

While it seems daunting to compete with the likes of a 10,000 hour pilot my advice is simple. If you’re interested in working here, apply. Don’t get discouraged and if it’s what you want put in. Hopefully we’re smart enough to hire you. We need you that’s for sure given pending business. I know these are scary times. Frustrating times. But don’t give up and keep the faith. I myself have been there. I just want to offer some positive support to any candidate interested here. Good luck to all!

-Currently we don’t have control over our schedules, it doesn’t matter if you are junior or senior, we only bid for days off, and scheduling will build you a line, unless you get SMF (very senior) and those lines are built with all days in a row.

-Yes
--Are CVG/SMF the only 2 out station basing right now?
-Yes
--Alas, when pilots do get an overnight how are the hotels?
-Very decent, so far has been Hiltons, Sheratons, Radisson Blu, Double Tree, and at a last minute layover I was in a La Quinta.
