And how is it that JL who was over 60 and not current as an engineer suddenly eligible to be in 727 S/O class? He is currently in training from what was said on this board. I thought when you turned 60 you HAD TO DECIDE to go to the back or retire. How does this happen legally? Somebody NEEDS to file a grievance on this. This isn't allowed in the CBA.

So the company is neutral on age 65??? Get real. How can this bid open even more Widebody Capt seats when we are already fat?? At least try and make it look above board, this is getting ridiculous. At least the company doesn't get 2% of my pay every month!

Hey I'm still trying to figure out why the new union head negotiator got wide body pass over pay for a year and then got into an upgrade class without a bid. It was magic or something. Union didn't give him the passover pay the company did. Wonder what the company is trying to do? I'm sure anyone would have gotten the same deal.

That is not really a secret deal.

You cannot be serious,
of course we need more Capts.
Now that Age 60 has passed, going to be more Capt's with maxed out vacation and maxed out disability banks they have to use before retiring to the backseat/lower payrate at 65.
36 days of vaction and 12 days of sick leave to use every year.
means fewer days of availability versus your generic young Capt
of course we need more Capts.

I remember an AOC pilot meeting with the SCP, quite a while ago, where the big question was "when is the next bid". The SCP answered "not for the foreseeable future". The NEXT day a large posting was released ? Not even the mid to high level Flight Managers know more than us and you think those in charge are asking our opinion, I don't.
That being said, we do have an opinion and this is more leverage against reduction of ANYTHING ! Keep it coming.

If you don't think our old buddy Jack isn't involved in this you're being incredibly naive. He got exactly what he wanted..back in a left seat without the embaressing stop in the back seat. He even started class when he thought he would have to be a "required crew member." When he realized that he didn't ahve to do that he dropped out immediately. Maybe the next FCIF will be that he is getting his old desk back. And all at MD pay rates instead of SO rates. Way to go Jack......
Calculated move by the Company.
