Hey I'm still trying to figure out why the new union head negotiator got wide body pass over pay for a year and then got into an upgrade class without a bid. It was magic or something. Union didn't give him the passover pay the company did. Wonder what the company is trying to do? I'm sure anyone would have gotten the same deal.

Talk about polishing a turd....

So the company is neutral on age 65??? Get real. How can this bid open even more Widebody Capt seats when we are already fat?? At least try and make it look above board, this is getting ridiculous. At least the company doesn't get 2% of my pay every month!

Well, if he was getting passover pay than he held the seat in a previous bid.

That is not really a secret deal.

You cannot be serious,
of course we need more Capts.

Now that Age 60 has passed, going to be more Capt's with maxed out vacation and maxed out disability banks they have to use before retiring to the backseat/lower payrate at 65.

36 days of vaction and 12 days of sick leave to use every year.

means fewer days of availability versus your generic young Capt

I think we are getting a bit in front of the horse here. Does anyone really believe there was ANY communication or consultation with the MEC prior to this bid being published ?

I remember an AOC pilot meeting with the SCP, quite a while ago, where the big question was "when is the next bid". The SCP answered "not for the foreseeable future". The NEXT day a large posting was released ? Not even the mid to high level Flight Managers know more than us and you think those in charge are asking our opinion, I don't.

That being said, we do have an opinion and this is more leverage against reduction of ANYTHING ! Keep it coming.

He may not be able to even hold MEM MD11 CA if some of the senior DC10 guys decide to bid it ! I do agree this is a direct act to help the over 60 crowd, pure and simple. They should have canceled the FDA slots and rebid them all, except that are scared even fewer will bid it. The over 60 crowd will not bid it and now the junior guys holding an FDA award have a guaranteed 5-7 years in that job before they have a prayer to bid back to the US.

Calculated move by the Company.

It just isn't right. To cancel the previous bid, and then allow a new one right away. I don't care if it is "legal and contractual." It isn't the right thing to do. Period.

Are you saying you are a non-member ? If so, you need to sit back and enjoy the flight.
