I may have read more into it...I guess I figured you were senior...Sorry....your point is taken and if an amerijet pilot is doing as you say I hope our senior brotheren will give them an inertia reel and send em out the side window! Its too bad...Im sure there are some quality folks at Amerijet. I still think its time!

Red,
Do you personally know any Amerijet pilots? what the situation is for each one of them? why they work for those wages?
I know a few, and most of them did not have a choice, when you have a family to feed and you've been furloughed and the job offer comes up will you say no? specially if nobody is hiring? and you live in South Florida and can't afford to commute and pay for a crash pad? is easy to judge from the outside. Do you really think they have the choice or power to say anything about the 767's? They're just glad they have an opportunity to fly a bigger and "newer" airplane for a little more $$, and maybe with the new type and experience they can afford to move on to greener pastures.
I feel your pain and I am with you an every other pilot on the street. Been there done that! is not fun!
How many times have you seen the pilot group making decision or choices over management? Do you think they have control or the power to tell management what to do or how much they should pay?
They've been fighting for many, many, many years for a Union, but their group is too small and the company always wins.
It is not their choice, they're just excited about the "new big airplane" and the opportunity.
So I don't think it is fair to star a Jumpseat war or judge them, I bet if they had the power they will demand ABX pay rates!

Triflyier,

Is it fair for Amerijet pilots to rub it in the faces of ABX crews on how they are getting ABX 767's because ABX pilots make to much. Please educate your friends at Amerijet on professional respect. This is no laughing game. Families are being ruined as I write this. And by the way, Amerijet pilots do have a union ~Teamsters. In this industry you get only what you are willing to put up with, plain and simple. If they want to fly "the new big airplane" they should demand and accept nothing less than industry standard wages. Accepting less pay gave ABX Air the dry lease avenue to take jobs away from ABX pilots.

Ultradrvr,

It was time 6 months ago, but our lame ass eboard wanted to spend all their time wining and dining politicians. It's to late now. Hete is closing up shop and DHL will retract the severance when he is finished in June. There will be no contract! A job action will not have any effect at this point. Remember, DHL has the Astar fleet if they need it for the tiny bit of freight.
We had them by the balls when the loads were still respectful and they needed both airlines. But once again, 1224 management let the opportunity pass by. What a sad, pathetic ending.

Zapata,

ABX 767 freighters do have a standard lav. The pc 767's have honey bucket closets. Amerijet is dry leasing five of the freighters.

You welcome, I work for "FUBAR" company in Latin America, TACA. I was based in Costa Rica. Today I fly for Royal Jordanian, in the Middle East. In a different note, the first company I decided to apply in the US was ABX Air. I got the application just before 9/11.....the rest is history.

Best of Luck...and if you guys/gals need anything.....most welcome!

Jordan Aviation is hiring as well as ANA. ANA is much better contract with based in the US. But you probably know that already!

Well.....all good points! Although I'm too chicken to call em "lame" You know I so junior I dont have enough education to speak intelligently about most of the subjects that have to do with union/management. I probably should just read and not post.

I feel the pain of abx pilots, however I know guys at amerijet. They work there because they have no other choice. Most have been trying hard to get a new contract, but those guys are dealing with the worst management possible and with the industry as it stands today what choice do they have? I know that for the last few months abx has been operating amerijet flights to the caribbean, ajt pilots had hours reduced as a result, don't know how many abx pilots complain about it. All am saying is ajt is probably one of the worst operators out there, but don't take it against guys who are not to blame for the sad situation you're going trough. I agree there are a couple of ash*** there but is a minority.

Ultradrvr,

Remember, your suppose to be a good soldier and do what your "superiors" tell you to do. Right now your suppose to be quite as you get screwed by Hete, DHL, 1224, and Amerijet. Anyone else want to join the orgy?
