What Do You Think About Training Date Swaps?
#61
Does anyone think ST learned a lesson or do you think he will say it wasn't his fault that a manager said, "This is getting out of hand, shut the whole swap program down!"
Edit - Sorry. Not JT but ST. I need a nap.

This dude that's thrown a wrench in the works, reminds me of a non-member that used to post on here. You know, they've always got a better idea of how things should work.
Why didn't he just sign the waiver and THEN approach THE UNION about changing the way we do it? Wouldn't have cost him a cent.
To hold everyone hostage unless he gets his way is just plain despicable.

OBTW, the company didn’t cancel any training swap requests (actually approved several) until this sellout’s complaint hit the labor negotiations office via the union. It was definitely his fault, cancellations might have happened later, but people would have been in training etc, etc. More problematic for company to cancel training swaps in midstream after a few had already occurred.
This clown should be on his own list for Pilot Hosing D-Baggery check off.

He said he would like to know our thoughts and encouraged us to contact the union if we see other options...I guess he sees himself as THE MAN
Wow! I guess JG lost his job and now JT is our negotiator. I hope he asked for everything the MEC and the membership wanted. He's considering all our issues, not just his precious $70/hr for a few months, right? I didn't even know the MEC was considering someone new.
He most definitely was trying to undermine the wording of the contract despite his statement that he wasn't. He didn't care about the established contract changing process. Did he really think his higher seniority would give him the power to change it if other crewmembers didn't want it changed outside of the formal union process?
Now I see another problem. The contract says the company will approve swaps. They just unilaterally disapproved all previously approved. That may be a contract violation. Have you guys filed a grievance?

You would think a blanket disapproval would violate intent and past practice wouldn't you.

Reading some of the earlier posts in this thread it sounds at least like part of the MEC was on board with ST or should we say Pilot C. I am glad they decided to stay closed lips on this; so much easier to say I am sorry then to ask you to provide your block rep with your opinion. Hub Turn meeting tonight isn't there?

Went to the early AM meeting - waste of time. If you don't have anything to say (that hasn't already been said in multiple emails) AND you can't or won't answer most of the questions AND you don't like speaking in public anyway... then DON'T have the meeting.
I do appreciate their efforts to communicate with the membership, but hub turn meetings should have more to them than repetition of what they've already told us.
