Sams Town Casino, 30 mins SW of Memphis Intl., has a Corky's all-eat buffet, plus free beer or wine. If up for a road trip to the casinos, I think you'll get your moneys worth there.

BBQ? Chicken?

The best in the world of both are found in Mason, TN. Highway 70 (also known in East Memphis and Bartlett as Summer Ave.) just beyond the Shelby County Line (a "few" miles) -- Gus's on the right (the "original" Gus's) and Bozo's on the left -- the only Bozo's.

You could always show up at the Homeboy Suites for some free grub and beer at 5pm!

Gotta tell ya....I have tried ALL of the aforementioned BBQ joints..the best, imo, is Fat Larry's on highway 70. OUTSTANDING. The owner/operator (Fat Larry) is there every night and has won the Memphis BBQ festival several years in a row.

Try it...you won't be disappointed.

Yep, you could sit with the one dude from the sim building who stops in several times a week, sits in the corner, chows down, and leaves. Class act!

Must be practicing for his Captain's Qual...

Next thing he will be wearing a big watch, and trying to cash a check at the front desk.

p.s. Commisary in G'town gets my vote for BBQ

Make sure you wear clothes that you don't mind smelling like BBQ, because they will. But the foods great.

Besides great BBQ, Memphis has Dyers Burgers... deep fried hamburgers. Beale Street area. You've got to try this if you've never had a d.f burger. Certainly not healthy but delicious. Enjoy.
