Germantown Commissary
Central BBQ
Rendezvous
Corky's

Fat Larry's is now on the agenda for my next visit to MEM!

Default Memphis Food

BBQ:
Neely's Interstate
Corky's
Commissary (Germantown)

Chicken .. Not that crazy about Gus's and rest are mediocre

Catfish:

Wolf Creek Inn (Rossville...East of Collierville) is hard to beat for fresh catfish and cold beer...usually standing room only.

For home-style Southern food, including lots of vegetables try Dales in South Haven on State Line Road

Try it...you won't be disappointed.
Where on Hwy 70?

  • BBQ
  • Chicken - Fried
  • Whole Hog
Since Cordova got annexed, I understand Collierville and points east are best. Any locals please fill me in. I need to find a home for the family.

It's great to be here and hope to see y'all in the school house.

I am guessing that is you John. Glad that you got a much better job and ground school in Denver just won't be the same. You will be missed. Take care.

Best lunchtime catfish--Catfish Cabin, Airways & Democrat next to airport. And a free meal on your birthday (verified by driver's license)--music to a pilot's ears!

And concur with BBQ Shop on Madison (Dancing Pigs Sauce). Killer ribs and BBQ spaghetti; gotta try the Fried Bologna appetizer platter once in your life. Didn't care for Rendezvous AT ALL--they seem to trade on their reputation from years past and great location.

But as someone famous said, there is no such thing as bad BBQ; just some is a lot better than others!

I second that list, but in order of preference I would put central at the top. If you are mobile locally with time to spare, the wolf creek out in Moscow for catfish is a must and a little further is Wolf River BBQ Worth the drive, just don't speed! There is more and I keep an exhaustive list!

"Wolf Creek Inn", maybe meant "Wolf River Cafe" in Moscow, TN? I'll vouch for the catfish!

I can vouch for that! On top of that, I had expired tags and old insurance card!

5 minutes from Gucci Bldg - just over the state line.

Neely's Interstate BBQ just west of Airways on Stateline Rd. - great for lunch when working/long-term training in Gucci Bldg. (when you get tired of the cafeteria)

Also, I think there's a Top's BBQ (chain but still really good) on Stateline as well (couple more blocks west of Airways?) - when you want another awesome BBQ option close to Gucci Bldg and tired of Interstate.
