UPS Flight 6 Memorial
#84
If I may say this, I think for all of us who fly for a living and have loved ones we miss and who miss us the entire time we're gone, a crash is just brings great saddness and our hearts go out to their families and friends and we pray that God's grace and mercy will give them comfort in their time of sorrow.

Sincerest condolences from this side of the pond ....
En route to Iraq, I heard pretty much everything from when they declared their emergency overhead Bahrain due smoke in the flightdeck, through their descent and pleas for altitude readouts because they couldn't see their instruments, or change frequency, to hearing ATC shout "climb immediately" and then calmly say "loss of radar contact"...
To hear the initial panic and plain fear during their transmissions (in real time as opposed to a DVR playback on a documentary) has been the most chilling event in my 25 years of flying.
My heart is with their families.

How supportive my fellow aviators dressed in brown stood upon learning of the tragedy known as FDX080, I stand today.
Thoughts and prayers to all those whom are inovolved, and to all those whom fly for a living, period.
Fly Safe.

PS: To my brothers/sisters @ UPS, please keep all of us informed regarding official movements of the crew...there are more than a number of us whom are eager to pay our respects.
Thank you.

I am sure our ALPA guys are reaching out to your appropriate IPA people but if I can unofficially speak on behalf of Compass pilots we offer our sincere condolences. This is a terrible tragedy and I only hope that the entire industry can learn from this and improve. Godspeed to our lost friends at UPS.
Sincerely,
UA
