Aren't you being a bit melodramatic and over the top with your description? Armageddon is quite a ways down the line; get over your disappointment and stop b*tching and moaning and add something constructive.

harry for president! Yeah, right...........
To all,
As you all know, we are only days away from finding out the results of the vote for the T/A. This is significant as we will finally get a definitive indicator from the membership as to which direction they want their Union to proceed. A NO vote means they are willing to stay the course and keep up the fight to achieve the contract we all deserve. A YES vote means they accept what has been offered and it is time to move on. From what I’m hearing the vote will be close and could go either way.
Politically, there is much riding on the outcome of this vote. Bob has announced he will run for President and he is personally voting no on the contract. He has sent the message that he will return and get the contract done. I agree if the contract is not settled by election time, Bob is our best chance to get it done. Bob has committed to run no matter what the outcome of the vote. But what happens if the membership ratifies the T/A? If it is ratified, will it be in the best interest of the membership for Bob to run? From what I’m hearing from the membership, the answer is NO. There is too much history with Bob and many believe he will not be able to unite the group. They are saying it is time for new blood, someone who is younger (40ish), a Captain and is part of the future of the IPA.
The reason for this email is to solicit feedback. If this T/A is ratified, I’m considering running for President. I want to make a good and informed decision so I’m turning to you for help by providing constructive input both positive and negative. I have discussed this with some of you already and my family but now I need to reach out further.
I have given this much thought and believe this decision, if I do it, is in the best interest of the membership. I understand what is involved and I am entering this with my eyes wide open. I’m confident that I can get the job done. That job starts by unifying the EB and then the membership. It is time to wipe the slate clean, let go of the past and get this group moving in the right direction, together. I believe in the membership and the IPA and I am not willing to give up on them. It is time for this group to rally behind someone and I’m willing to be that person.
Please consider what I have said here. Talk to others and let me know what you think. Your opinions really do matter to me. If at all possible, reply before the vote is final next Thursday. I will be making my decision then.
Thank you for listening and I will be looking forward to your responses.

Harry

I'll Vote for Harry
Harry has my vote. I don't know anything about him, but I do know enough about Tom and Bob that I would vote for ANYONE running against either one of them.
I cannot in good conscience vote for Bob. He had his time and he did some good things for our union, but he is not the hero everyone is hoping for him to be. He is a politician. I don't mean that in a negative manner, but I also don't believe he is the man for the job. It is time for someone new to step up to the plate.

Zoro,
Maybe if you would have actually answered my questions I asked you, you may have swayed me the other way. I was on the fence the entire time and I was looking for someone to give me good answers. Unfortunately, people did a lot of complaining but never gave specifics.

How weak can you be. I was hoping you fence sitters would have read the TA in its entirety and not only think about the bonus. I was hoping if you had any questions you would have called the grievance committee members and look at www.ipaontop.org and asked more questions. You wanted ME to give you all the answers? Let’s talk in a year or two and let’s see where we are as a pilot group and what the company has done to us on every chapter of this new TA, especially chapter 13 which is BTW since you seem to be spoon fed, the scheduling article
