The subject is the TA AND THE facts that It will take us a year to make it even with UPS payscales and duty rigs.
If you disagree, show me number, what do you have ? FoxHunter added a very true and positive point, but what do you have to add?

Out of curiosity, why are you calculating UPS vacation value at 3 hours per day ?
36 days vacation @ 3:00 per day=108 hours X $224 hr.=$24,192
Difference in Vacation pay $24,192
Pay per year 1,000 hours=$24.19 value per hour

Because, Fox Hunter and others get facts before they spout off. UPS gets paid 3 hours/day for vacation. Also, they max out at 35 days/year. Not 36 like FDX.

Here's a fun UPS work rule:
11 hours of duty vs. our 9 hours in the critical window.
or
How about if you use a company ticket to deviate on a trip that operates in the critical window (EDW for them), you have to be in place 18 hours prior or get docked 3 hours of pay.
I'm only trying to point out some things that you need to keep in mind in order to balance what you see in other contracts. Neither side can cherry pick, unless we do one day become FedUPS.
If you really want to have fun and reading ours isn't enough, here's their contract: UPS Contract

If you have a 7 day vacation, can you stretch it out to knock out 42 hours of trips or can you only knock out trips that touch the scheduled week? What happens is you touch two trips that knocks out more than 7 days?

The explanation we received at our road shows is that if you pay people more money to take vacation on days off, they are more likely to put their vacation on days off. The idea is to generate conflicts when bidding. More conflicts equals more hiring and upgrades.
