So, no loss but no gain, i.e. we're flying them around breaking even.
You still haven't explained the math on this or why we're supposedly doing it.
I'm with MX727 on this one.

I'm sure we're having trouble making money on the 727s if the A310 is iffy. But I don't know. You have to mention both if you think any airplane isn't making money. Not to mention that poor reliability would push business to a competitor and cause a loss of profit.
The A310s may guarantee extra capacity to locations that a large business requires when we sign a commitment to provide service. So, in that regard, they may be generating a profit. Some markets can't take a narrow body.
Ever have a old car that you keep fixing up, or just tolerate the bad gas mileage, because you want to push buying a better one off? May be expensive now but cheaper in the long run.
The 787 rollout and 767 tanker program will create 767 buying opportunities for the patient.

[QUOTE=MaydayMark;1034518]Don't forget we need to get them back because they did such a fine job negotiating the payrate for our last new airframe!*?
I am not happy with the job those guys did with the pay rate, I am curious though, where in the world was our ALPA national advisors to tell them "you never tie a pay rate to a specific airframe and especially one that is not even in revenue service anywhere, much less on our ramp!"

That was our problem in 2006.
