I find your post to be disrespectful. I assume that you fly for key lime? How about you take the time to climb the ladder rungs, pay your dues while flying an RJ and get a taste of the 121 world before making any assumptions about life at brown. I chew the fat with your pilot group from time to time at DEN and really like you all; but your post was a bit inconsiderate.

This being the reason why our industry is in the toilet. Guys selling their souls to the devil and busting their ass for 25k a year. The airline industry will never get better as long as guys have your attitude.

HotMama--I'd love to know your career path. I'm sure you didn't leapfrog some folks by being a "hotMAMA"!! You shouldnt be telling someone to pay their dues.

Shaggy--You hit the lottery with your military career and then by being hired into $160 per hour first airline job. Not everyone is as lucky as you/us.

That said, we've got Metro guys who make quite a bit more and have been around a while because they get to be home every day.
In any case, pay and schedule aside I'm really enjoying the flying I'm doing now and in any case it's not forever. Kinda like UPS first year pay.....

I am sure their is some private pilot or cubical worker somewhere who thinks you have it great. I mean you probably only fly work half of the day flying 4-5 hours while they work 8 hours a day.
Yep most likely the UPS guy has a better job then you do. Most likely that same guy has been where you are today.
What I don't get is why you would find it amusing that those folks are trying to make their and perhaps your future position better.
To be blunt your perspective is not new, you are not unique. Almost every pilot flying professionally has already made the sacrifices that you are starting to accomplishing They have gained experience and knowledge over the years to decades that well you don't have. Seniority and money won't make you happy in this life hence some complain. But remember those complainers have been where you are, you havn't been where they are.

The pool is probably nonexistent. At the most, expect another interview in one of the first groups ... whenever that may be ?!?!
As for staying at DAL, it really depends on how old you are ...
30's ... might leave for UPS
40's ... think very carefully, probably never make Captain at UPS
50's ... probably stay

In the end I hope that both the IPA and ALPA have continued success maintaining and improving those conditions on the off chance I get to work there, hopefully in an ANC base.
