AFAIK, the plan right now is to not put IS&S panels into these aircraft. Instead they will all be the EADI/EHSI (Fast/Slow I guess) displays. However, they all will be upgraded to the PEGASUS FMC and maybe the MCDU which should include GPS MMRs (think 712AX). This would allow for one worldwide navdatabase instead of what is currently done with the 767s.
I wonder why no IS&S? Does the install not play well with the PEGASUS FMC/GPS?? Or are they cheaping out. Or is the STC just for the 767's???

I could be wrong but I've only heard about the PEG upgrade so far. Changing out databases is not an option because the airplane could be in FHAW one week and PKMJ the next. Plus these airplanes are kinda old relatively speaking.

"I'd guess ABX owns none of theirs, either. What better way to manipulate cash flow accounting"
Not on paper but according to the PBGC the 33-34ish 767's belong to ABX....transferring assets to a leasing/holding company for tax purposes is not that unusual....look at the registration on the 9 DHL owned 767's (5 Pratt flown by ATLAS, 4 GE flown by ABX) currently in the US domestic system...they all are registered to Wells Fargo Leasing...all smoke and mirror's....ATSG owns ABX, CAM and the aircraft

Which a/c are not going to get the Is&S pnales you say? At least the one in the hangar I saw last week in ILN had the IS&S panels.

791AX is coming to ATI. It's going through conformity in ILN. JV said so last week unless this changed in the last 4 days.

I'd say cheapening out for the moment to get them flying. The STC is for the 757 as well (AA has some 757s with the panels) and its fine with the PEG stuff.

The combi in ILN right now has IS&S.

All of these 757s (including 556CM) have been doing a TON of sitting over the last 2-3, so they could have slipped in the upgrade during that time. Thanks for the update. This is a smart move it they all are getting the upgrade. Fleet commonality is very hard with second hand 757s; just ask FedEx.
