We're only picking up one 777 this year and then it's a high antis for awhile as we pick up 76's. MD-11 may be going domestic but I believe they will be around for at least 5 years. Case in point with our ground crunch of two 777 in CDG, you need a back up plane until we pick up enough 777 to displace the Maddog. Also heard from a fellow pilot while jumpseating into Memphis the other night that JB was heard to say we WON'T be looking to hire any pilots for at least 18 months.

I remember hearing 5 years ago that they would never run another fo class for the md-11. But that proved false. When I was hearing what he was saying, I had a hard time thinking it was going to happen. I was just wondering what everyone else thought.

As best as I can tell, there's been absolutely ZERO movement on the MD-11 for years. Five years ago (about AGE 65 change time) I was 55% seniority, today I'm basically 55%, now (according to the APC rumor mill?) they're going to start parking them and I get to move backwards? Great News! I didn't think that was how this deal was supposed to work?

Funny cause PC said they wanted around 4200 pilots about a month ago. Do the test pilots report to JP?

Default Future fleet numbers

Hi guys, I know that it might be difficult to say but what are the fleet projections for FDX over the next 5 to 10 years? I was looking at the following website and it shows a very small amount of hiring because of fleet reductions that begin in 2015. Federal Express - Audries Aircraft Analysis

Anyone know if the information on that website is at all accurate?

Thanks.

You raise a good question. I looked through pfc and cannot seem to find the fleet plan. Does anyone know where it was moved to?

Don't know how much validity there is, though heard a rumor that FEX is working with Boeing on an unmanned freighter to fly long-haul overwater routes.

It's actually a transporter beam, they used to have the proof of concept at Disney World but I think the little dog died of radiation poisoning and they had to shut it down.

How much is saved when you have to build an airport on each end in an unpopulated area???
