I feel really bad for the new hire pilots now in ground school. With the Cuba flights banned by the U.S. government, in the next 60 days. Swift will not need Pilots for the12 airplanes based in Miami. Perhaps will need to layoff at least 50 to 60 Pilots in the next 60 days, when the ban takes effect. Those new hires, or currently in ground school, will not get past IOE. Hopefully the recruiters at Swift will be straight with these people, and not lie to them. At least let them keep their current jobs. Not quit to come to Swift, then laid off before even getting the free 737 type.

I still wonder how many people will leave if they reduce the “Miami base” since most only work here because they are home mostly every night working down there, it’s going to be interesting how the dynamic changes through this, it will come back in due time.

I guess that you are sure of this, perhaps as sure the pay raises that are coming. I know two things until they say different. 1- Not enough work for 12 airpanes in Miami, after 60 days, and 2, they are not raising pay scales. Those are the facts staring Swift Pilots in the face. I wish what you are saying is true. But why have they not reduced the anxiety buy telling Pilots, F/A's and other employees what you stated here. Hmmmmm

Don’t despair... Your Sales Team... its all up to the sales team to replenish the schedule for the upcoming nixing of the Cuba flights.

I very much doubt there will be any furloughs, their eggs are in many baskets by design.
