Whatever else it may be, one thing it ain’t; The Wings of Man. Yet…
The 4 striper who when asked for his certificate produced the only one he had, A&P.
The medic who grew so bored balancing tanks he framed up a home cooked diploma to pursue his true calling, gynecology.
The wood chipper from the Boston base, so thorough nothing bigger than a fingernail did they find.
…maybe a “new” Eastern headline is just what the forum needs for Christmas.

They do not have a good track record.
Really don't know where you getting all this info that you are writing,

I am an eX- ATI ,the ex- chief pilot now the Ex- chief pilot from EAL DUE TO AGE,was let go from ATI for defending the pilot group if you didn't know, then management reverse it.

The CEO from the new EAL Mr. Wegel, Yes you are right, all the company that he put together are now close, but before you speak you should read and learn. He was payed to put together and open a company and he did and after his job was done, he was let go; If the company close 7 or 8 years later he is not to blame for, blame the new management team.

Admiral Owens was the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Resources, Warfare Requirements and Assessments. Bill Owens is the Chairman of AEA Investors ASIA, located in Hong Kong, and Executive Chairman of Prometheus Partners, based in Beijing. He serves on the Polycom, Wipro and Viasystems Group boards, as the Vice Chairman of the NYSE for Asia. Since 2007, Admiral Owens has been very active in significant Chinese- American relations including continuing dialogues between the most senior retired officers in the US and Chinese militaries and similar dialogues between very senior economists.

Joseph DaGrosa the JR director of EAL, is also a senior partner and co-founder of 1848, a merchant banking and investment fund. He has co-managed the firm since its founding in 2006 and approves all of the firm’s capital commitments. He also serves as co-chairman and a member of the board of directors for several 1848 portfolio companies, including Jet Support Services, Inc., The Franklin Mint, Sunbelt Diversified Enterprises LLC, Big Apple Entertainment Partners LLC, and London Bridge Entertainment Partners LLC.

The management team is great, I believe they can do it. New airplanes 10 B737-8 with the option of 10 more. And up to 46 MRJ.

Now do I like EASTERN AIR LINE, yes I do like it. I send my resume and I hope they hire me. And yes it is a risk a new company, but a risk that I am taking.

Coke pilot I agree with you. I believe the company is moving forward and it is a great start, having new airplanes like the B737NG with and order of 10 new out of the factory airplanes from Boeing and 20 MRJ also out of the factory and not only that having your own simulators and hangar, to me it means money and a excellent start up operation. I really don't care where the money is coming from as long the money is spend in the USA and our pilots get new Job opportunities. The management team is strategically put together for a reason. I am a Airbus operator with previous B737NG experience, and would love to be part of the initial pilot group. I already send my resume. Interviewin on Tuesday June 9.

Not to contradict, I thought Juan N was Eastern's CP since he left Miami Air, and that was some time ago. Good man... Started as a spanner turner, worked al the way to the left seat on th NG. No one upgrades at Miami Air unless they make by the gate keeper, Strve "the little big man" J.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see what better mouse trap that EAL has to offer as apposed to Miami Air, a proven entity with cruise lines, tour operators, sports teams and the DoD. In addition I'll be surprised if American Airlines And Spirit will let them be a presence in their own backyard.

Well, they've done ok with Taco Bell and I did say JetBlue would never make it. So if it's not too much trouble, maybe a PIREP after your visit tomorrow?

Well, Meto Guido. I have To mention that the interview process was very professional, it was held by the Chief pilot Mr. Nunez (JN) and the director of operations with an HR lady. Normal question the tipical: why Eastern?, where do you expect to se your self 10 years from now?, what do you think about standarisation ? What is CRM ? What would you do if you flight with someone that is not following company standards?

Then he explain the salary, how many airplanes are they planning on having by The end of the year. Very positive feedback. I believe if they call you for an interview is because you have the Job.

Care to share more details regarding pay, schedule, benefits (jumpseat/cass, days off, vacation, per diem) required to live near Miami, etc....

Thank you NG pilot. I'm certain they take recruiting seriously. The panel obviously liked what they saw, congratulations. A lot of aircraft on order, going to be interesting. All the best.
