Come on! Really? You can make that same amount at the Regionals .Or flying for any Fractional or even a Part 91 Citation. Pay has got to come up if they want any qualified guys that will stick around. Crazy industry this is. Race to the bottom!

Well from what it was a year it's an improvement. Before there was no pay scale you were the same every year and paid a block hour rate on top of your salary. Less per diem as well. The only real perk right now is the "home basing". The stress free commute for me makes the difference. Not really any viable regionals to work for where I live so this is the lessor evil to commuting.

Does Swift have home basing as a fact or as a special favor for which you need to pay at the backend?

I was told "home basing" only exists for VIP pilots. This would be a good alternative to a regional if they offered true home basing. I'm guessing the ICE schedules are not commutable?

VIP pilots are home based unofficially. Too many changes in this dynamic job. AEX pilots are pretty much home based too they never forced them to move they are airlined to AEX and bought tickets.

ENV is like a TDY thing, you live in an apartment and they travel you to one of the out stations to swap pilots.

IWA well all those guys live there.
MIA they all live there or in FL for the most part.

Hell even xtra is home based, not sure why it's such a hush hush deal.

Incidentally living at a base doesn't make it 'home-based'....neither is moving to your base in order to be 'home-based'.
So there's basically no rhyme or reason to it, if I'm understanding what you're saying.
The old guys all have deals that the newer crowd doesn't get....right?

Well considering most all the old guys live in IWA. Not sure which deals they have. They don't travel as much. I have never lived in base nor had to commute there to travel. Since I started I have always been able to travel from my home airport which is a major hub.

In fact some of the new guys hired were never assigned a base and were always home based from day 1.

I'll be using this as ammo when I move in October. SYR or ALB their choice.
