Eastern still has MIA flying? Half the time I see them parked.

How are they going to find and retain people? How would one even come close to commuting to AEX? I thought you guys were going home basing? Again, I am rated but crickets. I do not think I could commute to AEX, never mind IWA or SAT.

I have heard the new C.P. is not pilot friendly but that is just rumor.

With all the hiring going on I am not sure where they will find people as you may be better off at a regional.

That's the point, AEX is really difficult to commute to so I think any upgrades are going to be told AEX, if they're not interested then they'll go to the next guy.

The VIP guys are unofficially home based, ENV is TDY and everyone else is based in GSO, MIA and IWA I'm not sure what the status is for SAT and who knows what's going to happen in AEX if they can't get any takers.

It's true the regionals might be a better option, it depends what you're looking for.

As of now the pilots in SAT are being airlined to AEX. I know the FAs were forced to move or quit.

I'm sure if they forced them to move they would all quit

Rumor on the street has it that the Eastern deal fell through.
So no 800's from E.
Anybody on the inside care to verify?

Nothing down the pipeline yet. I still don't know why they would get those expensive leases when I'm sure there are some old 800s sitting around somewhere.

Hell probably would be cheaper acquiring an old 757 vs an 800. 75 would be nice for VIP.

Thanks gentlemen for the info. With so many hiring these days it will be difficult to find people. Threatening any staff is not the way to run a company. I would honestly walk away if that happened. Maybe me not getting a call is an omen??? They, like others are or have, could fix the issues tomorrow but it seems they may not be interested and that is just sad. Also, divding and conquering does not work either. Why do one set of crew get something but not the other. I see now why the union rumor is running about. You should all be fighting for the same thing. You should also include, now this is nuts, the flight attendants. Hope for the best for those of you at Swift.

Almost always the FAs are treated as a less valued group. They are quick and easy to train and management feels they can replace them at will.
