I think Apple uses a number of carriers. Both Mijami Air and Extra were in Columbus the other day. Love the rumors though. I do not think Eastern will make it on its own. Orange Air and World Atlantic need partners as well. Aersale has deep pockets. You should see Xtras headquarters. There will be mergers this year but the crew shortages will continue. The regionals are offering pretty decent packages the biggest of wich are some flows and passes.

Swift has almost tripled in size since I started there just over 2 years ago. Don't think that can be said for Xtra, Miami Air or the others. If I was a betting man, Swift would seem the darling at the dance right now as far as stability is concerned, but that can change on a dime. We are at least 14 to 20 pilots short for the number of airframes right now, and the gap will widen as more planes come on line if they don't do something to attract and retain.

Thanks Triggs. I think someone said basings were going away and home basing was coming? The pay is better at Swift but commuting would be too hard. I am 737 rated and was called in 2015 but could not come then. Guys like me are out there and would join it's just the incentives aren't there. I would join tomorrow but left seat would need to come quickly, it seems like 2 years right now? and the basing thing would have to be addressed. There are too many either home basing jobs, Everts for instance, or regionals with hotels. This is in no way reflective of Swift Air but current market forces. In other words, why would one join Swift right now.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

DO already stomped that out, it's not true. he said buying eastern would be a liability as that place is a mess. I definitely wouldnt want anything to do with that 36th street mafia operation.

So how would someone with a 737 rating apply again? Carlton is gone so there goes that connection. I apply for the jobs on 350.com but have not heard anything. They can't be too desperate. The upgrade and basings thingies will be a deciding factor. AJTs new contract looks sweet too.
I think 2017 will be a good year for those looking. Fingers crossed of course.
Thanks for all the info.

I wouldn't be surprised to see mergers/acquisitions take place in the supplemental world this year. If Swift is going to acquire anyone, it will be a company with authorizations that they want/need, not a company with outrageous lease payments on brand new -800s that need to fly 16hrs a day to make the nut. That being said, I've been wrong before.
