Just got word that they will not allow HR to call you for an interview if you marked more than two "failures" on the application. So even though the FAA doesn't count written tests (69% on a test I took on a whim which I now really regret, had gotten an 86-88% on the practice test but that was six months before the fact) they consider it a bust making my total 3 (one oral bust and the last item on my mutli ride which was a simple mistake that I'd never made before nor will in the future but.....). All I needed was an interview to allow me to explain and show what I learned.
Doesn't matter if you show a trend of past checkride passes or have passed air carrier checks. Little chance to backdoor into flying from another position either with "their" version of 3 busts. Really sucks too because I really wanted Commut. I knew that if their second question on the application was "how many failures have you had," I was SOL, even though people said it didn't matter.
I'm still going to stick with my beliefs about quantity vs. quality of hours and that passing all your checkrides doesn't make you amazing...... it just stings though.
The HR lady, in charge of pilot recruitment, is really great. She went out of her way to help and even called me back after my rejection came. So much nicer then the normal "thanks but no thanks."

Not exactly sure, but if I had to guess... I'd say it has something to do with the potential contract going into effect this bid period. Since the second day of a standup under the new rules would be considered a work day, blocking up to 4 standups in a row would prevent people from bidding a standup every other day and getting a crazy amount of "time off," building really inefficient lines, and working barely any hours. :-) Just my guess. ...basically a standup would be a really crappy 2 day, unless they put them together into an even crappier 4 or 5 day.

Says the guy who famously said that he would "rather have his quick upgrade than a contract."
You openly expressed your hatred of merging with PCL and Mesaba because it may have disrupted your upgrade plans. If Colgan would have not merged, the CommutAir contract would have looked a lot like the Colgan contract. But you were able to have your cake and eat it too (joint contract and now an upgrade) and you talk crap about CommutAir???? Remember that not every small prop outfit can back into what Colgan was able to do.

Thanks Juice for calling him out before the other 2500 Pinnacolaba pilots had to.....Axial you are really something else.......not gonna say what you can figure it out....
I encourage every Commutair pilot to search Axial's posts if you want a laugh at how hypocritical he is....

I've got no beef with the CommutAir pilots...they're looking out for their own best interests, which is understandable. But I do chuckle to myself when I see how hopelessly scattered and divided this "union" really is. "Takin' it back", anyone???
As for my personal situation, Juice...you've got the wrong guy
