Maybe you were on our negotiating committee and haven't been on the line in months? Whether this will pass is totally up in the air, and regardless of which way it goes it's going to be quite close.
Been through the CLE crew room today? "Vote no" signs everywhere (unless the MEC got them removed). Put up by Captains, not FOs.
Nobody expected industry leading, not from this company. We also didn't expect a contract not worth the paper it was on...and we got it digitally...
Vote how you want, but please don't pretend this TA has massive support behind it and I'm an idiot for putting what it is out here for everyone to see and laugh.

The vote no signs were a nice touch to the same walls that had the nazi quotes from hermann goering.

I'd take a contract over NO CONTRACT.
50% deadhead pay sure beats 0% deadhead pay. Last day of stand-up considered OFF day vs. last day counts as work day? Hmmm, I'd vote contract again. No Block or Better vs Block or Better? Contract wins again.
Regional airlines = My FirRst AirLine. They suck. They all suck. A contract is better than nothing. Big picture. Think, big picture.
Oh, my record-- 10 legs. In one day.

I want some of what you're smoking. Have you even read the TA? You like flying 7 or 8 legs per day? Doing stand-ups with the last day counting as one of your few off days? You currently have nothing, you're right about that. I think you have no idea what you would be getting out of this deal compared to the way you are treated now. The CommutAir TA youtube video suits pilots like you who don't have the first clue about what you can reasonably expect in a first contract. Its easy to sit back and want more when you probably haven't even been at CommutAir long enough to know what kind of crap they can inflict on you. Go ahead, vote for management.

How I understand this it cannot be a pay cut. Even if they made you all of a sudden start bidding less hours than you do now it's still a pay raise. Everyone is still going fly and bid the same hours as now though because if not they have to hire more. The only difference is that now you can actually accrue more hours. (block or better, etc). The hours you bid are also guaranteed now because of the cancellation pay clause. In the roadshow they explained all of this. Unless they cancel your first turn on the first day of you trip your hours are all pay protected from your bid. The min reserve line will be 80 hours and for everday you fly more than 4 you get the overage. Reserve lines could easily pay more than 90 hours per month and at the new pay rates that's a lot more money. I'd suggest you watch the roadshow video they put online today. Made a believer out of me. I'm looking at an $8,000 raise or more!

As I said earlier, no one expected management to give a Piedmont contract. It's the first round, concessions have to be made for an agreement to be reached. However, I would prefer to fight for a better contract for new hires down the road than take my own immediate benefits now and then leave it still below industry standard for the forseeable future.
I went to one of the Cleveland shows and was not impressed. Two and a half hours of rambling, ridiculously specific examples, little citations of definitive benefit for the masses, and the typical ALPA rah-rah; then time for just a few questions (several of which were just answered with "trust us") before they hushed us along. I'm sorry, I don't have a lot of "trust" right now.
The wonderful part of the whole scenario is it doesn't matter what any of us argue on a message board...at ten AM tomorrow we can start voting, and within two weeks we'll have an answer. Things will be changing regardless, and we're all along for the ride.

How can you fly 83 hours plus a month without keeping your sanity and QOL? Monthly garuntee is everything and 82 hour which currently stands is pretty nice. For you to get 8000 dollar raise you are going to have to do four 4 days a month. I hope you enjoy that schedule. If the pay increase was 4 or 5 dollars than I see a reason to vote yes.
