How about the other end of the spectrum at Compass? Anybody know how many Compass Captains are leaving each month for greener pastures?

Attrition seems to average near 20 a month although not all of those are captains and it varies month to month. That’s out of a pilot population of less than 700. Some of those are going to greener pastures than others of course.

I find my seniority at my domicile as an FO is going up 7-8% per month.

I think we are losing about 70 captains from now until April. Already lost about 30 in December. Considering we only have about 350 active CAs, that's not a bad figure.

Man. It’s hard to believe you guys still aren’t hiring with that kind of attrition.

There’s a decent sized pool of people already waiting for classes. Compass isn’t doing the hiring for class dates months away unlike others. To be honest, I’m unsure which hiring method is better.

Dunno either. I know some major's have discrete windows and won't even take applications outside those times while some seem to just let airline apps accumulate and depend on internal recommendations from their own pilots to help sort the wheat from the chaff. Then there are the guys that put you in a pool in a neat line behind previous selectees and those that put you in a pool and just let you swim until you out swim everybody else in the pool. Lot of ways to do it I guess.

I think we also up fronted bonus money to a number of RTP guys who sort of go to the head of the line when they hit their mins because CPZ already has/had money invested in them, although I think the majority of those are already through training and on the line now.
