Wow, I can't believe I overlooked this yesterday. They are definitely not speeding up deliveries, in fact I received an email today that said the opposite. They are still planning on getting all 36 airplanes this year but are trying to slow deliveries over the next couple of months until staffing is caught up. It seems the company didn't plan on no-shows for training or training hiccups and we are "critically" understaffed at the moment. Hopefully they will get things figured out, but right now they are saying to expect staffing to be poor for the rest of this month and June.

When I interviewed in September they told me they were going to exercise 18 additional options, but nothing has been announced yet. I think it's safe to assume those options have not been exercised. Who knows what the future holds.

I have no idea why they are telling people Delta is going to continue to honor flow through (well I guess I have an idea). They may very well intend to honor it but to the best of my knowledge that hasn't even been negotiated yet. Again who knows what the future holds.

Be careful about making career decisions based on promises during interviews and ground school. I once figured out how many airplanes were promised to me during interviews verses how many airplanes ever found their way to the companies I ended up working for. The total was somewhere around negative 100. Seriously! So far Compass has come through on most of what we've been told, which is a new experience for me. But I took the job because I wanted to be based at home. My advice (from someone who has been at a few "less that great" airlines) is to make decisions that you will be happy with even if the company doesn't deliver on all of their promises.

I thought that I read that SDF was going to be a base, which made sense if it is going to be a MX base as well?

Where are they building the MX hangars in SDF? I was told that it is on Chataqua property, but not sure how unless it is leased somehow??? Could they do that?

Excellent advice Oberon. I've had a good experience at Compass so far and enjoy working here...but at the end of the day our management is NWA management, with all that implies. You'd be an idiot to trust them. The sooner you realize that (ie the interview) the less disappointment you set yourself up for.

If you're only burning 2700 (1350 per side) then you are doing better than anything I've ever seen. I've seen 1400pph per engine at FL390 and .77. But I think your numbers are a little low.

Any talk of exercising the aircraft options? Or will this heavily depend on the NWA/Delta merger?

Are the schedules commutable?

Does the contract allow the flexibility to personal drop and shift trips?

Of course, every single line has a show time of 1130 and a release time of 1700. Reserve lines, too. Especially for junior pilots.

Welcome to 121 flying!

Do you work at Compass? I doubt it.

Why are you even posting in here then? Get a life.

I hear you... this forum is good for getting info on jobs and helping each other... not getting in the way and rubbing in your job in our face, lets stick to the topic of Compass and flowthru/schedule, upgrades, etc..

I too would like to know the commutability of the lines and if MEM is better than MSP, etc.. any experienced guys from Compass out there that can chime in?

and just as an FYI.. Skybus did just that. I never sat reserve as we did a day or two of res on every line, and I never had less than 15 days off with a block of 4 or 5 in a row.. and yes, SX was FAR 121.
