You could get either base at this point...

My CBT started August 15th, back for in house training on September 16th, had my last SIM event Nov. 1 and I was the last pilot in my class finished as scheduled.

When are the last classes supposed to start for this wave of hiring? If you were in an early January class would it be possible to be off reserve before the hiring ends this spring/summer? Or will the hiring maybe just slow now that Delta has began taking flows. I believe they originally stated that it would stop around April of this year? Maybe they'll just keep going forward with hiring all year...?

Its already passed. By the time you get hired it will be one of the last classes. They have been running them from August. Unless compass gets additional growth, its not worth being on reserve for a while unless you live in base. Flows will be held off, so they will be fat on FOs for a while. Which means 3 aditional months of reserve for people hired in august.

Eh, not quite since they still need to upgrade and they haven't said how long they will hold back for. The other part is most likely the hiring will continue since Deltas hiring sounds like it will last awhile and others are ramping up quite a bit. I think by the time someone heard of all the movement somewhere and don't have an interview even lined up asap it may be too late to reap the benefits for that "wave" The poolies last year are in a very good spot. The rest are in for huge reward with quick upgrades or eternal reserve, thankfully the former seems more likely. Regardless of all that said I still think it is a very solid regional option.
Edit. The "wave" I speak of is the 1st of 3 that can basically happen every January going forward as long as Delta keeps hiring. After these flows this year there will still be around 200 left.

Default Too late for Compass?

I'm seeking just a bit of clarity, realizing that it is hard to predict the future.

Eighty have been hired. Perhaps 90 more will be hired in this round?

Others (how many?) have been interviewed, or even hired, and haven't shown up yet in the Flica numbers.

How many more need to be hired before the next subsequent hire finds himself on Reserve for more than just a month or two?

That is the question.

Speaking of contracts, we just got an email last night saying almost everything is done and only a couple items will be sent to the arbitrator to have his determination done by next week. No details though.

Sounds like you're worried about missing the boat. With over 300 pilots leaving in the next 3 years, I wouldn't worry – it'll still be a 2 - 2.5 year upgrade.

Sounds like a possible new base, or at the very least base realignment to be announced within the next week... Guesses are as good as mine but either LAX or SFO.

And before everyone jumps all over me... it was talked about on the company conference call today.

Would the west coast base be junior or senior?
