Remember the magnificent 7? Didn't they get hired with less?

"WHEREAS, the Company has corrected the administrative problem re-affirms its commitment to comply with Section 11 V.19. and agrees to cease and desist from hiring pilots who are ineligible to hold an ATP"

According to the Compass website, their published hiring minimums are still full-ATP minimums, 1500 TT. The current pilot contract requires new-hires to be provided a Captain type rating in initial training, thus the requirement for ATP minimums.

NOTE: If there is anyone who accepts employment at CPZ without unrestricted ATP minimums, be aware you may be stepping into a big mess. I also wouldn't recommend going out and getting a restricted ATP solely to work there either.

(Mustangcbra, this isn't directed specifically at you, just a general observation)

They were hired with less and should not have been per the contract. There is a long story that goes with them being hired, but the result of this happening was LOA 2008-3. The LOA allows those 7 to remain employed, but prevents the company from allowing it to happen again.

This is from the LOA:

"WHEREAS, in order to be eligible to obtain an ATP certificate, certain minimum requirements must be met, among them, that the pilot must have accumulated at least 1500 flight hours and be at least 23 years of age"

Sorry if this question has been repeated, I've been trying to sift through pages to find the answers.

For all you current Compass guys, (especially new hires), how long does it typically take to hear back after applying? I'm a corporate guy just shy of 3000hrs, over 1000 of that being TPIC and an ATP. Does not being 121 hurt my chances of even getting a call back? I've heard Compass doesn't stray far from airline guys, and that if you're not 121, you'll just be skipped right over.

I just applied two days ago on airlineapps, so I'm wondering how long I should expect to wait to hear anything

Took months for me.. but I had 121 time. This was at the first wave of hiring in July. But I turned them down due to financial/life issues. Couldnt make it on next to nothing training pay then 25 per hour after that.

Yes, if anyone has received a job offer without an unrestricted ATP (or meet the requirements for said certificate) that was issued under 61.153 and 61.159 be very careful. The part of the regs. that deals with a restricted ATP (61.160), has limitations listed in 61.167 that prevents a Captain type rating from being issued.

It depends.

It took me around six months to hear back and get an interview scheduled. I'm a 135 freight guy with a couple of recommendations. The other guy who was in my interview group was a 91/135 jet guy.

My class is about half 121, half 135, plus one mil-tanker driver.

The class ahead of us has some 135 guys, at least one ex-military, 121 folks and, I think, a guy coming directly from a flight instructor background.

I wouldn't sweat it if you haven't heard back in a couple of days. :-)
