Easy to out the iPad as optional. And the cost if replacing mounts and back up batteries that get broken might cost more than a ship set. Just what I have noticed since we use them.

Do you have ship sets for FOM, AOM, MEL, etc.?

We have them on a tablet in mot of our planes and the few that do not have the tablets have ship sets of them. My prior airlien required the pilots to carry them.

It sounds like installing tablets into the plane is expensive because of the STC and associated work required. Issuing tablets to pilots is a cheaper alternative.

MW doesn't know his bumhole from his elbow. Take with a very large grain of salt.

What about aside from the new base announcement.. I'm just trying to figure out how long if at all am I going to have to suck up LAX. Are you on reserve? If so for how long have you been on res?

I would think that you will be on reserve in LAX for about 2-3 months, considering that I don't believe there will be any new hires in August. After that, if MSP stays the size that it is right now, I would guess that you could get MSP-based effective sometime around January or Feb. Considering all the hiring that will be taking place between September and that time, you probably won't have to spend more than 4-5 months total in LAX. That is just a guess though.

As for the AA CPZ base, MW did say LAX, but who knows really? That might be what MW heard is most likely, but I'm not sure that the final decision has even been made yet.

management I spoke to said there COULD be an announcement regarding a new base in a week. Didn't specify if that was referring to an AA base or the rumored SEA base for the Delta ops.
