RTRD, thanks for the information. I like to feel my application is pretty solid, other than the degree. Zero check ride failures, retrain events at my previous 121, etc. So fingers crossed, I will have to start reaching out to some Compass guys for a rec, I guess.

I've recommended 3 pilots in the last month and none have a 4 year degree and all got a call to interview.

Hurry up! :D

About 10 minutes after posting I received and email inviting me to interview! Maybe I should have posted sooner! :D

You can get a CDO line (continuous duty overnight) within a month. Great for vampires and insomniacs.

But about 2-3 months is the going rate right now if you don't bid a CDO line.

How do your CDO's pay? Is it based on duty time?

They're usually 50-65hrs block and min guarantee pay of 75hrs. Each CDO pays 4hrs (usually) based off the single duty period. Some CDO's, MSP-PVD for example pays a bit more because the flights are 3hrs+. It's based of the total block or at least 4 hours, whichever is greater.

What's a typical show/release time for CDOs? Trying to figure out if rsv would be better coming from Orange Co.

For LAX I'm assuming? There are just 2, either SFO or SAN but next month we have one to LAS, SJC and PHX (I think). Usually they show around 745-830pm and finish around 7-9am. You'd probably have a little traffic in the evening on the drive up and a decent amount in the morning if you're on the 405 all way. If you take the 105 to the 605 to the 91 you might be better off.

But if you're starting soon and planning on LAX chances are you won't be flying CDO's for very long.

Yeah, lax. I probably won't be starting ioe till January. I'm in the Nov 6 class. Just trying to get a feel for what I can be expecting.

Awesome, congrats dude and good luck....remember, don't be a d*#@& (did I seriously have my last post moderator deleted for saying d*#@& or was it something else?) and you're in. Look back in the thread for books to look at. I found the flight engineer written guide to be helpful too, apparently knowing how to sit sideways in a 727 is useful for flying E-175s somehow.

Just for the sake of argument... Let's say in the future compass wanted to ensure pilot feed and as a result merged with another group. Would the guys hired at compass prior to this be protected and keep their seniority? Or would a new list be created with respect to overall date of hire?
