The only reasons AA decided to use Compass for the first 20 planes, was because there were only 2 bidders in that bid for those 20 planes, and they did not want to to give them to Envoy, just to prove a silly point. AA was running out of time and went with compass. Hopefully any future planes would go to Envoy, but unfortunately, with the recent vote at Piedmont, I expect them to start flying the future 175 deliveries. Things always seem to go the exact opposite of fair in this industry.

I think there is more to it than that, I hardly believe AA chose CZ because they didn't want to give them to Envoy? I'm sure it was a business decision involving analysis of the bids including the cost to crew and train the aircraft...there were multiple bidders on the CPA btw...

I'd agree with this assessment. AA had options with RAH which they chose not to exercise in order to give the flying to Compass. I'd guess because of CZ's relatively junior pay scales.

FO's get priority, so there shouldn't be much. Captains were waiting about 10 days.

Yeah, as for now, there is probably very little delay for ioe; probably only 3-5 days. As we get further into the hiring this year, the length of time will increase though. I would say those that are hired in November (who will be ready to begin IOE in Feb)will probably see a wait time of at least a week, and like I said, that will only increase as the months go on. Enjoy the time off, you won't get much of it in 2015 to begin with.
